An email from Maya's dad

I do not always get to see the Perrin-Skippen family so I emailed Stephen today to tell him you were all asking after Maya. Here is his reply and he has been kind enough to send some recent pictures:

Hi Claire

Great to hear from you again.
Things are good at the moment.Maya is still on the medication which is shipped to us monthly from Houston. At the last scan the tumour looked stable and was described by the doctors in UK and USA to be dying from the outside in.The equivalent of a rotting apple etc it is however still the same size.
This news was very promising for us and gives us hope that the tumour could one day disappear.
We are looking to take Maya back to America soon as the doctors have requested to see Maya .I will try my best to get her over as soon as possible.
Recently Maya had a cataract operation as the Radiotheraphy she had combined with the three surgeries has damaged her eyes.The operation went well and Maya can see a little better from her right eye.In about three months she will have the other eye done aswell.
Maya is at school in the afternoons and sadly it dosent look like she will be doing full days until medications can be stopped as the medications make her very tired.
Please thank everyone for there continued interest in Maya as she could do with as many prayers as possible to keep her tumour at bay. We really are so grateful to everyone who still thinks of Maya and cannot thankyou all enough for your help emotionally.
I have included a couple of pictures in this email showing how much healthier Maya now looks.

I think our decision to go to America has been justified by these images of a little girl who was meant to die within 2 months yet is still here 16 months later with no growth in her tumour.
