Child Dies after being left in a car
There is a report in the DM of a child dying after being left in a car in Texas when the temperatures soared to over 33 degrees outside. One of the comments posted is as follows:
Should have left her in a holiday apartment and lost her, she'd be meeting the Pope now, not facing charges!

Someone agreeing with me.

Couldnt agree with you more! Im sorry but the children were KNOWINGLY left in the apartment, this appears to be an accident. In no way am I condoning leaving children in the car but it is possible although it may seem impossible whilst reading about it.

The last time I had a similar comment published it was reported and removed.

I'm shocked.
Amongst all the and about getting a McCann comment published, not one of you have expressed sadness about the child who died in the car which is what the title of this thread is about.

Re: Child Dies after being left in a car
I'm sure those who posted about the McCann comment are sad about the child who died and simply assumed others would know that. After all, they'd hardly be happy about it. It's just that as this forum is about everything to do with Madeleine's disappearance - and that includes the way in which the British media has feted her parents - it's of interest that a comment about them was allowed to stand (not sure if it's still there). In the media's eyes it seems it's ok to criticise other parents who leave their children alone in a place where something bad can happen, but not ok to criticise the McCanns.krebopple wrote:

For the record, I'm very sad to hear about the child who died in the car; it's appalling that this happened and IMO the mother should be prosecuted. And before anyone trots out the old 'her child's death is punishment enough' remark, please note I don't mention punishment. The law needs to be applied equally to all; if charges of some kind are due then they should be laid. The time for mercy is after a verdict has been reached and sentencing is being considered; then it could be said perhaps that the loss of the child and the subsequent guilt are sufficient punishment. I've always thought this in connection with Madeleine's disappearance too.

Re: Child Dies after being left in a car
The comment was posted on an article that was not related to the McCanns. I,m afraid it's just another example for journalists and the pro's to refer to mcCann sceptics as internet nutters. It,s hardly surprising that this kind of thng gets us a bad reputation. And even worse when you can see the moderator giving rep points for awarding such an act.

Someone said on Page 11 of The Sun today it says Americans are advising mums to leave 'child reminders' reminding them that they have children in the back of the car lest this should happen to them!!
This is obviously where the Mcs went wrong they should have had stickers on the back of the apartment door that they had 3 children they were about to leave alone - maybe l should write to the fund and give them the heads up for their next money making adventure?

They'd probably have missed the stickers on the back of the door in their rush to get out. So, they possibly need to write notes on the backs of their hands.

Sorry folks, and with all due respect to fred, but I’m afraid I have to agree with krebopple on this one.
I'm sure we are all immensely distressed to hear that a one year old child has died in such a truly horrific and appalling way. I doubt any of us can even begin to imagine the horrendous suffering that poor little mite went through before she died.
However, the DM article had nothing at all to do with the McCann’s. It was about the tragic and untimely death of a child.
If anything, this thread should surely be concentrating on that.
Or, are we now happy to use any and every opportunity no matter what simply to get in a smart comment dig at the McCann’s?
I hope not...

Re: Child Dies after being left in a car
I wasn't being disrespectful to the dead child I as merely pointing out that the McCanns have had it "Their Way" since May 3rd 2007. They did go to visit the Pope a few weeks after their eldest daughter vanished, they did leave their twins in the same place that their cherished child was aducted from..
The point is we haven't BEEN ALLOWED to comment freely on this case, so yes, we do have to get a dig in where we can as we haven't been able to have the power of freedom of speech in the British press, like in any other normal story in the media. I can comment on Jordan being beautiful/slag/slut/ and nothing is ever mentioned. The Mccanns have some power , and i don't know what it is, but it sure is there. So yes, i will as you put it "Have a dig" anywhere I can, relevant to the story in the press or not, because that is the only way!!

Re: Child Dies after being left in a car
I agree with both in a way. I am sure that fred meant no disrespect and
was only pointing out that there is another child the mainstream media
is not giving so much attention to with regard to her parents' neglect.
Any child who suffers as a result of parental neglect is worthy of our
time and and drawing attention to their suffering. This poor child
probably suffered immensely and we have no way of knowing what those
final moments were like and I can only hope that she fell asleep and slipped peacefully away in her last few moments.
Madeleine McCann's suffering will one day get the attention it deserves and until then I can hardly blame someone for trying to call attention to her suffering too, although sadly it may detract from another small child's story.
This is actually what Maddie's parents are doing so much of the time. Whenever they can, they latch onto the case of another missing child and that child becomes, 'Australia's Maddie,' not themselves, but another 'Maddie.' We have seen the McCanns grabbing the media's attention whenever and wherever they could and we have seen the fawning media latch onto every word that utters from their slimy mouths, but ignoring that fact that the real victim is their child.
