I don't think anyone will be served by getting rid of DC :
a) there's nobody to replace him who would be any different
b) PM's are middle management, there would be no change to notice
c) compared to Teflon Tony and his cronies, DC has simply made bad judgements, not lied to parliament.
d) would you rather have little Ed running the show? We'd need an interpreter.

Life's quite complicated enough.
Tony Blair travelled to Australia before the 1997 elections to meet with Murdoch, I'm sure they had the occasional get together after that.
If anybody had the press in his pocket, it was the sainted TB.
The public and press should get over the fact that nobody has such a squeaky clean past that nothing can be found against them. This was the problem with Princess Diana, who had to be a virgin otherwise the press would have printed endless stories of ex boyfriends. So far the only thing they've got on DC is the Bullinham Club and a bit of carousing. Perhaps he got to the leadership because of his boring past. He is very bright and doesn't have to read his speeches and emotions from material by speech writers, unlike some...
So give him a break, he's learning! (and it's not as if he's inherited a healthy economy, a country free from mass immigration and a booming housing market, as did Tony! We all know how that worked out..)

Of course it had nothing to do with Vince Cable as the minister responsible overstepping the mark (however justifiable with hindsight). Incidentally Little Ed said at the time he would have sacked Cable.

TBH that aspect does worry me Tigger, if DC goes what do we replace him with? Nick Clegg? God help us all, that thought is too awful to contemplate.

have to agree with Tigger. nothing to be gained by replacing Cameron, possibly things to lose. And Cameron will have learnt so much from this mess, and will want not only to appear to clean up the mess but actually to do it.

Ed Milliband is a muppet calling for DC to step down, he took over from a Labour Government only a year ago, l personally can't wait until we get some info on 13 years of Blair, Brown and the Murdochs.

Methinks we won't hear a peep out of him then.

Clegg is playing a canny game at the moment avoiding the "ya-boo" exchanges and point scoring the others (Little Ed in particular) have decided is more important than tackling the real issue - Murdoch. Of course he is still a non-entity.

Spot on Tigger - - not forgetting
Stephenson & Wallis The Yard took on Mr Wallis at a time when it was facing growing calls to reopen its investigation into phone hacking and offered him a third contract on the same day that credible new allegations were made about the extent of voicemail interception at the NOTW. During his employment, senior Yard officers sought to persuade The Guardian that its investigations into phone hacking were exaggerated.
and
Sir Paul is right to point out that he has taken responsibility for his force's close relationship with News International in way political leaders have not. But it is difficult to equate the employment by police of a man who held a senior role at a newspaper they were being asked to investigate with No 10's decision to employ an adept tabloid attack dog. [curtesy of the indy] A Dead PM Walking? 294124
Also could Scotland yard really afford to pay Wallis £1,000 per day well I suppose if we can cough up 3 plus million to search for one child whilst ignoring all the others anything goes.

and of course not forgetting what others have said - we cant afford to have cleggy [can you see it in the middle of a very important meeting he says sorry chaps off to do the school run].

TBH, I believe that DC will resign this week. He must do.
No PM who has been tainted so badly can command the
confidence of parliament.
His leadership and judgement is gone, and not to mention
his trust within democratic politics.
He is viewed by many as a media puppy, in Murdoch's
pocket to do what his paymaster desires.
Just think of DC's intention to curb the power of the
BBC and ponder on who's interests is he serving?
Let right be done and to hell with the political consequences.
A trustworthy and honest monkey is better than a
corrupt and dodgy PM!

So were previous Governments, l'm sure there'll be some dodgy stuff about Blair coming out, no-one was more slippery and mistrusted than he dragging us into the Iraq War, continually giving Peter Mandleson chances.

Wait till they get round to them.

Btw, just seen this: Police stop investigating damage to Ed Miliband's conservatory after the Labour leader admitted to throwing stones from inside.

During PM's Question Times and the special debate on hacking, Nick Clegg, sitting next to Cameron, looked like he had actually passed away. He has got young kids though hasn't he? May have been up all night I suppose.

I believe that if David Milliband were the head of Labour this whole scandal would have been buried long ago. I did not agree with Ed Milliband criticising the strike a couple of weeks ago but I have to admit that I am happy he is there now to fight the Murdoch empire. DC is Murdoch's little errand boy just like Tony Blair was. David Cameron fled when he should have shown leadership and he could have sent someone else to South Africa in his place. All IMO.

The Daily Mail article from a couple of days ago was completely devastating for Cameron though.

It put a completely different spin on the hiring of Andy Coulson. They said that Cameron had wanted to hire guito hari, but Rebekah Brooks told him to hire Coulson as he would be more "acceptable."

Whatever Blair and Brown may and may not have done with Murdoch, that COULD still be the death knell in Cameron's career. Maybe Ed Miliband knows this to be true and senses this? He would be foolish not to use it to his advantage. Everyone knows that politicians are hypocritical. But it's also a jungle and when you see your opponent has a weakness, you have to go for the jugular.

The tabloids tried to dish some dirt on him recently didn't they? About his "colleague" who he shared a bed with, in a completely platonic way, to save a bit of money in a hotel, even though he's got stacks and stacks of money.....

Funny, how the DM has hated DC from the start. He must have done something to them! How short peoples memories are;

Britain went to war when 70% of people were against it. Consequently it is a democracy.
In Iraq about 70% of people were in favour of the government and about 30% against it, consequently it was a dictatorship which needed to be erased.

And if you check Hansard: TB: ... I rejoice that my people live in a democracy where they are allowed to demonstrate.....

So go easy on DC, at least he doesn't think he's got a direct line to God. Making big mistakes, yes, corrupt, no, megalomaniac, absolutely not. He needs a much better team of advisors. O, for his very own Prince of Darkness.
Look at my earlier post: 1997 ( a healthy economy, booming housing market, no mass immigration and helpful banks (Wow! that was long ago!) and how do you think GB got TB finally to leave? Sleaze, my lovelies, but Labour were so much better at hiding it.
And by the way, a bald PM? Never!
