.....Police Hunt For Missing Mother And Baby

Post  mara thon on Sun 24 Jul - 15:12

h..Police in the North East say they have serious concerns for the safety of a teenage mother and her seven-month-old baby who have been missing since Friday night.

Natalie Foster, 18, and her baby Robert, have not been seen since what officers have referred to as a "serious and violent" incident at the caravan site in Stokesley where she lived with her 22-year-old husband, Robert, who is also missing.

Natalie's father was seriously assaulted during the incident, and is currently under sedation in hospital after receiving surgery for his injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Two men from Middlesbrough, aged 30 and 20, have been arrested in connection with the assault and remain in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Kerrin Smith told Sky News: "Natalie has not been in touch with anyone since the incident on Friday.

"That's out of character, and we have serious concerns for her safety.

"We don't know whether she is in hiding, or is with her husband, either voluntarily or against her will."

Police say their primary concern is to ensure the safety of Mrs Foster and her child, and say "extensive" inquiries are underway with all police forces in the country currently on alert to assist in the search.

They are urging Natalie and her husband, or anyone who may have information about their whereabouts, to get in touch.

Mrs Foster is described as white with a fair complexion. She is 5ft 2ins tall, slim and has straight, dark brown, waist-length hair and green eyes.

Missing Mother And Baby 'Safe And Well'

..A mother and her seven-month-old baby who caused serious concern when they went missing after a "violent" incident are safe and well, police have said.

Natalie Foster, 18, and her baby Robert had not been seen since the incident on Friday at the caravan site in Stokesley where she lived with her 22-year-old husband, Robert.

But they attended Northallerton Police Station on Sunday evening to confirm they had come to no harm.

Mrs Foster's husband Robert, is still missing, however.

Natalie's father was seriously assaulted during the incident, and is currently under sedation in hospital after receiving surgery for his injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Two men from Middlesbrough, aged 30 and 20, have been arrested in connection with the assault and remain in police custody.

A statement from North Yorkshire police said: "Due to the violent nature of the incident with Natalie's father and the fact that nobody had seen or heard from Natalie since just before the attack, which was totally out of character, there was a possibility that both her and baby Robert were in danger.

"Thankfully, and as a direct result of the high profile media coverage that the investigation team was very grateful to receive, Natalie and baby Robert attended Northallerton Police Station on Sunday evening to confirm they had come to no harm."

Detective Chief Inspector Kerrin Smith, leading the investigation, confirmed police were still searching for Robert Foster.

"It is imperative that Robert Foster is arrested as soon as possible in relation to the serious assault which took place at Seamer Caravan Site at around 5pm on Friday 22 July.

"We are following a number of lines of enquiry to achieve this outcome.

"I am also appealing to anyone with information that could reveal his whereabouts to contact the police or Crimestoppers without delay."
