ALBANY, NY—United States Attorney Richard S. Hartunian and Clifford C. Holly, Special Agent-in-Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Albany Division, announced that KANE KEENAN, age 41, of Albany, New York, was sentenced on August 26, 2011, by the Honorable David N. Hurd in Federal District Court in Utica on his guilty plea to one count of possessing child pornography. KEENAN was sentenced to 30 months of imprisonment. Following his term of imprisonment, KEENAN will be placed on supervised release for ten years. KEENAN was also ordered to: (1) have no unsupervised contact with minors; and (2) register with the New York State Sex Offender Registry Program.

In September 2007, investigators received information that KEENAN had subscribed to an overseas child pornography website. On April 2, 2010, investigators executed a search warrant at KEENAN’s residence in East Greenbush, New York and seized a computer that was used by KEENAN to obtain, download and possess the child pornography. KEENAN pled guilty on March 4, 2011 to possessing child pornography.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
