Axed Leicester manager Sven-Goran Eriksson says he won't quit football ... because he can't play golf
Sven-Goran Eriksson has no intentions of quitting football after being axed by Leicester on Monday after admitting: "I am not a golfer."

The Swede left his post by "mutual agreement" following Leicester's mediocre start to the Championship season.

Although they are only five points adrift of the automatic promotion places in the Championship, a 3-0 defeat at home to lowly Millwall on Saturday left Leicester in 13th place.

"I would not think about retirement at all," the 63 year-old told the Express. "One day, maybe, I will wake up and think, 'Enough', but I don't feel like that now.

"It is not about money for me. If I didn't have football, I don't know what I would do. I am not a golfer and to have a holiday for more than a couple of weeks, I don't like it."

Much was expected of the Foxes under Eriksson, after an outlay of more than £10 million on transfer fees alone in the summer, but they have struggled for consistency this term.

The Millwall defeat was the final straw for the club's Thailand-based owners, Asia Football Investments, who held a meeting yesterday afternoon to discuss ending Eriksson's one-year stay at the King Power Stadium.

Martin O'Neill, who was in charge of Leicester for five years and led them to the Premier League, as well as two League Cup triumphs, has emerged as the early favourite to succeed Eriksson, while Mark Hughes and Alan Shearer have also been touted as potential replacements

Earlier this month, Eriksson celebrated a year in charge at Leicester. He revealed then that his job was safe despite the team's early season struggles.

So the 'journey men' moves on again (no doubt with another wad of money),just because they lost at home to Millwall 0-3.

Wonder where he'll turn up next.At least he lasted a bit longer than 'Umbrella' man mclaren at Forest.
To be honest i had Leicester down as good promotion contenders this year so i think it a bit daft getting rid of him now.
Maybe he'll have a go at the Jungle thing with Ant and Dec,that must be starting soon ?

Perhaps the BBC will give him his own TV series..... Footballers Wives could be a good title....
I shouldn't have said that.

Day or night reputedly made no difference to Sven, but at 63 he really should be getting a tad more rest...no wonder his eyesight is failing......
