Was Maddie a foster-child? Empty Was Maddie a foster-child?

Post  marxman Tue 17 Jan - 9:13

Just been pondering on the notion that maybe
Madeliene was about to be 'fostered' or had
already been fostered prior to PDL?
My reasoning is based largely upon certain indicators
that may point that direction.

Didn't the PJ ask Kate if she was wanting to put
Madeleine into the care of relatives? (must have
been a logical reason by the PJ to ask)

Didn't Kate tell some, after the 'abduction,' that
a 'couple' had taken her?

Why was Madeliene made 'Ward of Court' which
removes parental responsibility?

Madeliene, in my opinion, was seperate from the
family, it was the twins and Madeliene, Not 'Our
three children'.
They went to 'check' on Madeliene, Not the kids!
Therefore, the inference, that the child was left alone.

May also explain the care-free and unnatural attitude
towards their loss, "like being overdrawn" (Gerry)

I'm sure there maybe other hints or clues which may
support this view.

Well can I relay something that some would think....oh shut up.

The video off Madeleine opening her Xmas presents In the playroom ....it didn't feel quite like as if it was Xmas....like she hadn't been part off it,.

Then the video off her playing with the twins and saying...'oh look at that big train, Santa must off bringed it'

Like she had been somewhere and didnt know about the train and had just noticed it...

I think I'm just reading too much into it.

Morning Marxman and Kitti

It certainly comes over that Madeleine was treated differently to the twins and in some way, set apart from the family. some of the comments following her disappearance were downright nasty - which relative said 'that child could throw a tantrum'? What a horrible thing for a relative to say under the circumstances!

Making Madeline a ward of court only weeks after her disappearance was a very strange thing to do and not something normal parents would have considered, even if it had been suggested to them. At a time when they were allegedly desperate to get her back, the McCanns made her a ward of court and literally 'gave her away!

It sounds like another way for them to try and access the PJ's evidence against them, which seems to be their major concern.

From The Telegraph 20 Jun 2008
The McCanns hope their application to Mrs Justice Hogg will result in Leicestershire Police opening their files on scores of reported sightings of Madeleine, most of which have been passed on to them by police in Portugal, where the four-year-old disappeared in May last year.

Never about Madeleine, always about themselves.

I am certain I read somewhere that MM spent her last christmas with her grandparents in Scotland.
If its true, then that indicates to me she was definitely considered the outcast of the family.

Yes, duncanmac, Madeleine stayed with her Grandmother who had recently been widowed. It was felt that Madeleine would be Company for her and of course her Scottish Family visited so apparently she had a good time.

The McCanns went to Yorkshire with the twins and stayed with Kate"s Cousin, Michael Wright the following Christmas, It may have been because Madeleine
was a bad sleeper, but how selfish of the McCanns not to invite Gerry"s Mother to stay with them instead.

That would mean that Madeleine would have to spend Xmas with THEM....so what a good excuse For offloading a small child who could off gone before Xmas or after or they ALL could off gone with her.

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/2008/04/27/madeleine-mccann-s-gran-on-the-family-s-year-of-tears-78057-20395732/

She is near to tears as she describes how close a bond she felt to Madeleine from the day she was born.

Eileen said: "Madeleine was in my heart from that very first day.

"She was born on a Tuesday and I went down to see her on the Friday.

"I felt I had a really special bond with her.

"One night I took her into my bed to let Gerry and Kate get a sleep and it was just lovely having her lying there next to me.

"When I couldn't get to see her, I would speak to her on the phone."

One of those calls is particularly strong in Eileen's memory.

She said: "When she was two, Madeleine spent Christmas at my house and it was lovely.

"The next year, the family came up for New Year but on Christmas Day Madeleine called and said she'd got a kitchen from Santa. She was very excited and said 'I'm going to make some tea'."

So my gut feeling was right as said above about opening her Xmas present in the playroom and the twins looking like they were not part off it.

What mother would even think about letting her child spend xmas away from her family let alone do it cant phathom those two out at all.....she was just three for gods sake, I wonder how she felt regardless what the mccanns say about her enjoying herself ...cruel, very cruel.

Sorry , yes it obviously was 2005, but as I said, I think it was also to cheer up Gerry"s Mother who had been recently widowed. To go to Yorkshire for
Christmas 2007 proved once again how selfish they were. Even if they couldn"t bear the thought of Christmas without Madeleine, why not think of the twins for once who would probably have wanted to stay at home and have Nana and Grandpa Healy come to stay.....very odd.

Soon after Madeleine disappeared, Kate McCann was asked how the twins were coping. She said they were OK as they had never spent much time with Madeleine. I think the McCanns' way of handling Madeleine's perceived jealousy of the twins was to keep them apart, rather than encourage the three children to get on together and care for each other.

To me it is. It seems to me that you would try to have the children spend as much time as possible together, so that the older child would not feel pushed out by the new arrival(s). By being kept apart, being the one to be absent from the family on important occasions, the feeling of being replaced would be enhanced, I think.

It reads to me that Madeleine spent the first Christmas the year the twins were born with Gerrys mum but the next year at home together with the Mcs and twins, and went to the Wrights for New Year.

Anyone??

Can't imagine for the life of me wishing to be apart from my children at Christmas - however hard life might be!

it is almost as if maddie was not their biological child, but merely a child they obtained to satisfy their own well documented longing to be parents. then, suddenly and not long after her arrival their ivf attempts worked and along came the twins. they no longer had an interest in being parents to the "other" child, they got lucky, got one of each of their very own, their real family was complete. maddie, possibly a difficult little girl at times, was now in the way.

a far fetched and ridiculous theory i know but how any parent would want to have their child away from their family at christmas is something i cannot fathom. my siblings and i are all 30 years plus and my mother still wants us home for christmas.

so while i know the above is way off the mark, i still believe there is something there, they just did not seem to want her anymore. snr amaral's question to kate about arranging for maddie to live elsewhere was not something plucked out of thin air, a very strange question indeed and something that would only be asked with very good reason, i think.

I think the same as you, twins are very hard work and they had an elder child too. Maybe Maddie misbehaved quite naturally because she felt pushed out it wouldn't be anything bad she was only young, but l think Gerry wasn't hands on and Kate couldn't cope and possibly took it out on Maddie. Who knows? but the fact that Madeleine was sent away for Christmas somewhere else at such a young age isn't IMO the symptom of a happy family.

I think Madeleine was a Daddy"s girl and to be fair, there are photos where they do look like a happy Family. Admittedly she was a bad sleeper, often woke in the middle of the night and crept into her parents bed and I suspect that Kate was finding it hard to cope when there was only 20 months between the
twins and Madeleine, even mentions in her Diary that Gerry wasn"t very helpful. My eldest Son was very jealous of his Brother and the age gap was three years. I was advised to give the eldest an extra half hour with us before he too was put to bed but it"s obvious Madeleiene never had that time alone
with her Parents because Gerry says they were all in bed asleep by 7.30pm.
