Ronnie O'Sullivan

Post  cherry1 on Sat 11 Feb - 16:44

RONNIE O'SULLIVAN says he is being "gagged" by snooker chiefs after his Twitter rap and fine.
The Rocket was found guilty of misconduct for a four-letter outburst on the site — and told he had to cough up £250.

And three-time world champion O'Sullivan — who took on Stephen Maguire in the German Masters final last night — says the current clampdown is too severe.

He said: "I feel gagged and strangled after being fined over the Twitter thing. It's not much fun.

"It does seem some people in the sport just want to control you all the time — and I can't be controlled in that way.

"I am not even allowed to say if a snooker table isn't playing well.

"I don't need the grief. There are a lot of predators who twist your words and get you into trouble with the governing body."

EXCLUSIVE SNOOKER star Ronnie O'Sullivan was yesterday banned from driving for doing 100mph in a 30mph zone. The Rocket" had his wings clipped after he admitted racing around East London in his BMW M3. The three-times world champ was caught by a speed camera.

Speeding usually carries a £60 fine and three penalty points, but Walth-amstow magistrates also gave him a two-month ban because of the speed.

Ronnie's manager Django Fung told The Sun: "He knows he's been a naughty boy and accepts the punishment.

"He has now taken an advanced driving course. As I told him, 'This is not right. You can't keep driving like a maniac'."

Ronnie, 35, was banned for a year and fined £1,200 in 1995 for doing 133mph on the M3.

For all his undeniable talents he is still no more than a boy racer at heart. No doubt his adoring followers will still worship him even after he eventually clears a child up because of his continued stupidity behind the wheel.
