Yes Badboy, several Banks are paying hefty fines which is why they don't increase interest rates for savers.

HSBC warns of unprecedented regulatory burden
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/banksandfinance/11009900/HSBC-warns-of-unprecedented-regulatory-burden-as-half-year-profits-fall-12pc.html
Well they would wouldn't they ........pity they never kept to the straight and narrow and they wouldn't have had to pay the fines and have to face regulation.

EU exit could force Wall Street Banks to desert Britain
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/banksandfinance/11040484/EU-exit-could-force-Wall-Street-banks-to-desert-Britain.html
II think this is a bit of scare mongering , American and British Banks were involved in one of the biggest Banking frauds for which fines are still being paid. The European Banks want to make a charge for all investment purchases and do not have the trading expertise of London. Ireland is a small Country does not have that many banks.

Re: Bl***y Banks Again
This is a comment from the Article.........nice one. LOL
Hohoho. This is the Banks pushing for an improved Tax rate structure in UK.
Can't blame them for trying.
Sure, and they are welcome to try their hand at some Casino Banking in Ireland.
Watch them Irish Politicos, mind.
You'all have a pretty Monday, OK?

Happy with your Bank complaints have fallen
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/banksandfinance/11069222/Happy-with-your-bank-Complaints-have-fallen-42pc.html
With Barclays intention to have "virtual reality" Banks there will be no-one to complain to soon if others follow suit.

I think the PPI ought to call it a day, they have taken millions from all the Banks.....where is the money going? The more they take, the less the Bank customers will receive , no Director has been charged and jailed , just fined.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/11093587/Investors-pull-17bn-from-UK-as-banks-ratchet-up-Scottish-independence-pressure.html
B***dy Banks again......no moral fibre , interference in a Country's affairs , losing money for shareholders by this negative attitude .They are certainly not qualified to offer advice to the people of Scotland .

Will Islamic banks expand?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-28365639
Badboy, the reputation of British and American Banks is so tarnished I think Islamic Banking will grow and they have a great system for providing Mortgages. The borrower is charged rent on the Property and the Bank has the deeds. When the Mortgage is paid off by way of rent the Borrower receives the Deeds. This is a much better idea than the free for all Mortgages where rates change very often so that the borrower loses their home.

FCA closes in on £2 billion Currency rigging deal
http://news.sky.com/story/1342492/fca-closes-in-on-2bn-currency-rigging-deal
This is disgraceful that still no heads will roll from the Board of these Banks and shows just how weak the Government is by letting the Banks get away with it. Bank customers are surely getting short changed.

What, they are being robbed Badboy ??? Not far from where I live , a while ago some very clever con artists made a replica of the front of a cash point , took the existing one down and substituted the fake and used cards to get money out.
