The Mysterious 'they'
Today in the paper I just read the article RE: The murder of Leah Whittle by her teenage son.
They case goes to support the fact that you are more likely to be killed by someone that you know.
isn't that right Kate?
The teenager then fled the flat in the early hours, climbing out of his first floor bedroom window and down a drainpipe.
He went to visit friends, feeding them an elaborate cover story that he had seen a gang of 'mystery men' from the north of England kill his mother, Winchester Crown Court heard.
Divorced mother-of-three Ms Whittle, 42, was found slumped against the hallway wall.
Prosecutor Richard Smith said the teenager claimed he had watched through a bathroom doorway as other people stabbed his mother to death.
'He said he watched through the ajar door of the bathroom as "they" were stabbing his mother. And at some stage "they" tried to knife him.'

If we think about acting and rehearsing - it takes quite a while to memorise the lines and then gel it together with actions, especially if it's not your given occupation.
In my opinion T9 were given a scenario to act out and Kate "fluffed" her lines.

That's my thinking.
Script: An abductor takes Madeleine
Gerry breaks the shutters from the outside.
Jane sees a man carrying a child
Kate gets her lines: you have to run back and tell everyone they've taken her.
So, Kate does just that "They've taken her."
No wonder Gerry roared like a bull! Jez Wilkins came along at the wrong time and Kate fluffed her lines!
Their timelines read like a script. I think that's why they're written in the present tense. If you're describing something that has happened, wouldn't you write it in the past tense?
Re: The Mysterious 'they'
also they have taken her -- she had 2 hers --2 daughters--and SOME OF THE T9 knew it was madeline they were talking about
