At this time of horror, that we have to be faced with Kate's 'thoughts, and sex life'. What happened to Madeleine is totally down to them. What happened to the little boy is Boston and the numerous others, was in no way down to them.

I appreciate that the interviews were no doubt SOLD some time ago, in preparation for the anniversary, but they should not now be shown.

this poor mother not only has a brain injury her little boy is dead and her little girl had her her leg blown off all though no fault of their own that is much more grief then kates

Didn't Gerry once say when 11 year old Rhys Jones was killed that at least his parents "had closure"? What a despicable and heartless thing to say. That's probably why they think they have the right to keep playing the victims no matter what horror other people are going through. Yes just found it, here at the bottom of this article:

There cannot be a pair of more selfish, self centred people on the planet. Everything is about them, their suffering, their pain, although I suspect the vast amount of money they have made helps their pain quite a lot. According to them it´s okay that others suffer grief and pain, after all others have closure. What an unpleasant pair they are.

Right from the off, they were selfish and had no thoughts for anyone except them selves. In an early interview, kate was asked why she had left them alone, and she replies 'It was our holiday too.' Honestly!!!

So true fred. They´ve jumped on every bandwaggon going, they are the important ones, nobody can suffer as they can. They´ve turned peoples lives upside down with their riduculous sightings, every missing child, every disaster involving children, there they are, "look at us, look at us. We are the important ones, not anybody else."

I wish someone in authority of some kind would have the guts to tell them to just go away and shut up.

They have endlessly chopped and changed their story, but their unbridled greed and profound narcissism have remained constant throughout.

With the terrible tragedy of the Boston bombing deaths, why would the Express and Daily Star put this pathetic drivel on the front page. The 8 year old boy who died had been photographed some time before with a Peace plackard and ban the bomb symbol. How sad that he was killed by some cowardly scum, his sister had her leg blown off and his mother has undergone brain surgery. One of the ladies who died was being cradled by her boyfriend. He'd been going to propose to her when she crossed the finish line. These are real genuine, heartbreaking stories and the press publish PR propaganda.

As for the crass, insensitive remarks by Gez, words fail me. Rhys Jones mother cradled her dying son in her arms. At the time of that awful killing everytime I saw the family I could've wept. That was a family truly devastated and I could empathise with them. You could feel their pain. How lucky they got closure. Just the sort of comment I'd expect from a heartless pratt.

Yes, think yourself lucky if you are the victim of crime and you get closure, then think of poor Gerry and Kate who will never get closure because they don't know what happened or where Maddy is. tell the truth, it's not too late ( as Gerry famously said).

Well said. It's all about 'me, me, me'. Madeleine is always an afterthought, so sad.

There's a piece in today's 'Mirror', titled, "Why a child's teddy bear is so important" by Miriam Stoppard. She writes that:

"No matter how dirty and smelly it gets, washing it [the comforter] is a no-no. Cleaning it breaks the infant's bond with the comforter and the young child becomes helpless, no longer able to navigate the eternal problem of separation."

One of the early things that brought up a red flag to me with the McCanns was the washing of cuddle-cat. What mother would do that to their child's comforter when the child has gone missing? You find out, very early on, that you're not allowed to wash that object, because it changes whatever it represents for the child. Yes, carry it everywhere with you whilst you're supposedly searching for your child, but don't wash it. It smells of your child for God's sake! After my son left home for university I waited to wash his bedding for a while, because I missed him so much that I used to go into his room and smell his bedding. (And, as an 18-year-old male, it didn't smell that great ).

I still have the collar of my beloved cat who died 15 years ago. It still has a wee bit of his fur on it and I can still smell him. I keep it at the bottom of my jewellery box and I would never, ever wash it let alone part with it.

Iris, I have a cushion that smells of my elderly dog who had to be put to sleep at around the age of 13 (he was a rescue greyhound), about 3 years ago. Every so often I give it a sniff, and whilst it still smells of him I'm keeping it. I certainly haven't washed it. If it no longer smelled of him then I'd throw it away.

So very true. The comforters in my house are well loved, well travelled and well cared for companions. They appear in every family photograph, either in a child's hands or in the background. They are never ever washed, the trauma suffered in the early days when I tried to wash them is just not worth it.

What interests me also is the respect children have for each others comfort toys. Whilst they will often fight over toys, share toys, borrow toys, they never ever touch each others teddys. There is an unspoken rule of respect between them, those comforters are not ever shared. That is why I find it odd to see photos of Amilee with cuddle cat. A mortal sin to cuddle, play or touch your siblings comfort toy.

And one thing I've said many times, especially in the early days.....if my child had been kidnapped I would be soooo upset that she didn't even have her comforter with her, that I would feel no comfort in having it with me.

They always have to steel spot light at any cost, business as usual for the McCanns, Boston Bombing or not!!!
