MADELEINE McCann's parents have revealed how they haven’t changed their missing girl's bedroom – nearly six years after she was abducted.
Her mother Kate said she seeks comfort at her village church in Rothley, Leicestershire - and in their daughter’s room.
She said: “I do have the key to our local church, but I don’t always need to go there. Sometimes I can go into Madeleine’s room and I don’t even have to talk - I can just think.”
“It’s as it was really - that’s her room.
“Sometimes people ask me if there will ever come a time when I change that room and it’s difficult because in your head that indicates moving on and I’m not there.”
The couple also told how they fear letting missing Madeleine's brother and sister stay away from home.
The McCanns said eight-year-old twins Sean and Amelie have not been allowed to sleep over at friends’ houses.

The DNA came reputedly from a pillowcase in what was said to be Madeleine's room. Iirc the FSS report stated it to be of a female child of the McCanns. Initially didn't exclude Amelie. Then the samples were ditched. FSS discredited. DNA evidence is not worth the paper it's printed on now.
Still tells us a lot.
We've had plenty of details given about Maddie, strangely - in the book - there is no description of her room, her bed, her favourite bedding, her toys, her drawings.
So why not sell the Sun a photograph of Maddie's room? All to help refill the coffers of the

I have always wondered why Kate - never one usually to miss a good opportunity - hasn't been photographed, looking suitably pained, in Madeleine's room.
It's not as if she believes that some things are too private to be shared, as we know to our cost from her book.

Of course the twins are not allowed to go to friends, unserpervised by the parents. They could learn other sides of the story implanted in their head by their parents, or have a free access to a computer.

I don't see why not, as long as those parents aren't up the pub whilst the kids are sleeping, the McCanns sloppy attitude of parenting is the minority....

They didn't give a damn when they put the twins into the creche the day after Maddie went 'missing'. They didn't know if the 'abductor' was one of the staff. Nope they went to the tapas for lunch. Load of trollox and too late to be 'protective' parents.
It must be very creepy for the twins IF Maddie's room hasn't been touched since. I wonder if they ever go in there....

I hope the real truth emerges one day, whichever way it roles. Re: if it had happened to parents from a 'council estate'; they would have been charged with neglect and castigated for sure... which is what should have happened to these 'professionals', at the very least. I think Kate uses the children like no Mother I know. Remember the video in the Channel 4 anniversary where she is painting with the twins and paints the name Madeleine, saying to them "whose that? They said something and she laughed and said "No silly, it's Madeleine". Normally , a Mother tries to protect her offspring but Kate keeps bringing them into conversation and ignores the fact that at two years of age their memory of their sister would be gone if she didn't keep reminding them. To stop them going to sleepovers, usually for teenagers , is childish and selfish , at least Gerry thought it was O.K. How can they say they are nearer to finding her when after 6 years and numerous "sightings". Madeleine has vanished without a trace.

Because maybe the other parents would want their child back in the morning? That child having been in the care of responsible adults all evening, so it doesn't get "snatched"?

Speaking personally - the McCanns can't yet stop the majority from expressing their opinions - I think that children would be safer in the absence of adults like them and their friends.
Perhaps there could be a fear of what the twins might disclose about their own home life if they spent time with others.
I recall that the children of Fred and Rose West weren't allowed to socialise with anyone outside of their family; not surprising in view of the horrors that went on there.

I recon Madeleine's room is probably stacked high with unsold books.And as for not letting the twins out of her sight what about all the hours training for the marathon run,did the kids run along with her.
