The Car Crash That Is Twitter Empty The Car Crash That Is Twitter

Post  Guest Mon 22 Jul - 9:56

There's obviously something big going down, because the #mccann hashtag on Twitter is in complete meltdown right now. Normally it's a mess anyway, it is worse than being in a schoolyard, and poor wee Madeleine seldom even gets a mention anymore. But now it is a total wreck. Pros and Antis are outing each other left, right and centre. Pros turning on pros, antis turning on antis. It is really ugly and shocking to watch. It is also very sad that people can't be trusted to behave themselves in an unregulated environment.

Sadly the workings of Twitter elude me.

Is it possible to post a link where I might manage to follow some of it.

The McCann supporters have never been able to debate like sensible adults; I'm disappointed if others who don't believe them are behaving badly too.

It really is a train wreck of a hashtag.
Granted, it can be useful when there's a new piece of 'real news'  which can be spread quickly and globally. There's even the occasional witty and amusing tweet. But most days it's the same old same old.
Dull. Repetitive. Boring.
Trouble is, it's mostly about THEM (the tweeters) and not about HER (Madeleine).
Too many egos scoring points, obfuscating, distracting, bullying, threatening, outing.
Yawn.
Can't be arsed to let myself get dragged in to that swamp of vapidity.

The Car Crash That Is Twitter Empty Re: The Car Crash That Is Twitter

Post  susible Mon 22 Jul - 11:05

Sadly that has always been the case, twitter or not..I had a really nasty experience with a so-called anti some time back, simply because I called him out for lying (which he was) and suddenly my name was mud everywhere, with people from this forum and other groups I was involved with, re-tweeting the filth he wrote about me to all and sundry..using my full name etc...He then went on to post filth about others, some of whom are very well respected in the anti-McCann debate, before eventually people wised up (I hope) and started to ignore him. I've only recently started posting again because of all of that..couldn't be arsed with the hassle.

But there has always been the despicable pro side who will spit vitriol at anyone..they don't need an excuse...though you are correct in that they tend to go totally overboard when it's not going their way.

But one of the reasons that I have started posting again is because I genuinely feel that something is afoot and I don't think it will be too long until something happens and whilst I don't know whether it will be good or bad and I have never been a believer in the protection and whitewash theory, I think (hope) that it will finally bring a conclusion to this sorry mess, and I just hope it is a positive outcome rather than the negative "no case to answer" at which point I personally would just throw in the towel.

Saying that though, if SY are genuinely looking at the case with a view to solving it properly, then it could be some time yet and until then, I expect loads more spin, stupid press articles about suspects, strange paedos etc and a lot of crap flying around in the twitterverse and blogosphere.

I totally agree with you Iris, which is why when I'm on twitter now I'm usually posting on other subjects and when I post on #McCann keep to facts, and giving websites where people can ascertain facts. I've never in my life been abusive or gone around calling pros names, but not been afforded the same courtesy back, which is why I block them - they seem to spend most of their time trying to out people - I've been at least three different people so far, not right on any of them, accuse people of lying when they are posting facts and information in good faith, make personal insults to people, name calling, abuse etc., very rarely do they post anything in relation to the case about Madeleine, they call people haters who have never hated anyone in their lives merely for asking questions and pointing out discrepancies, and a lot of people they do this to have not been abusive to them, have not called them names, but have debated politely with them.

I've also noticed they have gone around attacking victims of abuse, laughing at victims abused by Jimmy Savile, make fun of those with mental health or disabilities - all of which shows you what kind of people they are. They have no real interest in the truth coming out for Madeleine. Personally I don't believe in attacking people in this way for having a different opinion and personally don't agree with it whoever does it. I can understand why some of the antis do it after having years and years of abuse and nasty behaviour and lies but I think it just resorts to stooping to their level. Better to totally ignore them and keep posting facts, highlighting discrepancies and asking questions.

I agree cherry1. Best not to rise to it. Someone said I was a "dubious character" because my translation from Portuguese was questionable! Hilarious! I know about 20 words in Portuguese so it would be beyond questionable. Thinking about changing my ID to "Dubious Character" My grandson overheard me telling my daughter about this and he asked if he could tell his teacher that his Nanna Anna was a dubious character! He really chuckled behind his hand when I said yes!

The Car Crash That Is Twitter 294124

The sad thing is though there is no need for it, why be nasty just because someone doesn't believe the same thing as you, why cant people say we agree to disagree, what on earth do these people do in their relationships, if hubby disagrees with you do you be abusive, accuse him of being a hater, make fun of him, how on earth do these people function in everyday life, if their boss disagrees with them, do they go and start attacking and being abusive to their boss! I really cant understand it, I cant understand the need for any nastiness at all, for them it is not about trying to find out what happened to a missing child it is about attacking others.

Also this word hater they use for anyone who disagrees shows their ignorance, a hater is not someone who points out facts, questions things that don't add up, point out lies and discrepancies, how is that a hater, by their reckoning then does that make every police officer in the country a hater!

They also don't understand you can hate what a person has done, you can hate the fact that parents neglect kids, you can hate the fact that people tell lies, you can hate the fact it is obvious when people are hiding something, that doesn't make a person a hater, that doesn't mean they hate the parents.

I would say a hater is someone who pours forth nothing but vile abuse, someone who stalks harasses and lies about a person and repeats those lies on social media, forums etc, someone who makes fun of those who are vulnerable in the community like those with mental health and disabilities, someone who makes fun and laughs at people who have been abused and calls victims liars, someone who the way they engage with other seems to be full of hate and abuse with threats and intimidation, I would describe those people as haters - all behaviour over the years we have seen from most of the pros.

Spitty Dick‏@SpittyDick20m
@TeacakePlease @RosalindaHu @Zwicky321 Ther all nutters Cookie. We all kno Maddie was abducted. Pray she's ok ay Cook? #mccann

7:59 AM - 22 Jul 13 · Details

Pity Spitty spends so much time on Twitty that he hasn't any time left to go to his local police station or SY to tell them what he exactly KNOs about the 'abduction', as he is obviously privvy to definitive
information which the entire PJ and SY are NOT!
Perhaps Mr Spitty had better contact Kate McCann and tell her what he KNOs about Madeleine being abducted because in her recent interview she says she dosen't KNOW what happened to Madeleine!
So go on Mr Spitty, you can leave a message on her website, tell Kate, Madeleine was abducted because she dosen't have a clue about what happened to her daughter as she said!
But YOU do!
So do Kate a favour Mr Spitty and contact her today and put her mind at rest and tell her what you and all your friends KNO about Madeleines 'abduction'!
You can do it!
But will you?

Looks like Spitty Dick may have dropped himself in it as if the Police see that he knows what happened then they will be knocking
on his door for a statement and to sus out his involvement, how would you know unless you were there or someone who was there told you!

Forgot to say as well that they go around calling anyone who thinks there is a possibility that paedophilia may be involved a paedophile. Again by their own reckoning are they calling K & G paedos then cos they went on about paedos taking Madeleine, are they calling all those Police officers in the Child Protection Teams paedos for mentioning peados!

They cant even make a decent argument and perpetually drop themselves in it time and time again.

Thank you, I think it echoes the sentiments of what a lot of people think who don't get involved in the nastiness but
still get targeted just for doing what they can in their own small way to try and find out what happened to Madeleine.

Also noticed that recently some of the antis have turned the tables on the pros by outing some of them and pros showing absolute indignation saying it is a nasty thing to do etc etc., but they have been the ones doing it to people for years and years and years, they even set up their own sites to do it! Hypocrisy springs to mind!

Again don't agree with it at all and it is stooping to their level but I can understand people fighting back but I believe there are other ways, they are being monitored anyway!
