Maddie Case : Six suspects are in the Algarve

5 October 2013 | Posted by Joana Morais  Leave a Comment

British authorities say that six suspects of Maddie's disappearance are in the Algarve
Proceedings requested to Portugal will focus on these individuals, of English and Portuguese nationalities, who had already been investigated

by Rui Pando Gomes/Ana Palma

Of the 41 suspects that the British authorities believe to have an interest towards clarifying the Maddie case, six are in the Algarve. The CM found out, that most of the proceedings, requested by the English police to the Portuguese authorities within the scope of the new investigation opened in England over Madeleine's disappearance, will focus on these individuals.

CM learned the suspects are of English and Portuguese nationalities and were in the vicinity of Praia da Luz, in Lagos, at the time of the disappearance, in May 3, 2007.

They had already been investigated by the Judiciary Police (PJ), however the British police guarantees that they have new data, following the analyses of several phone records. It will be the cross-examination of that data that the investigation, which began with the pressure of the prime minister David Cameron [see on the side], is now focusing, leading to requests of judicial cooperation sent to several European countries, among them Portugal.

In order to fulfill the request, a team of six elements from the Judiciary Police directorship of the Southern area of Portugal was deployed, to carry out all the steps asked by the British police based on Portuguese law. The National PJ Director, Almeida Rodrigues, confirmed yesterday that the Portuguese authorities received a rogatory letter from the English authorities which is "being applied in accordance to the usual process". He also stated that the existing PJ team in Porto, headed by the Superior PJ Coordinator Helena Monteiro, reviewing the process will "continue to do their job" since "the situations of children who disappear are never truly closed while it is not determined what has happened".

The Attorney General, Joana Marques Vidal, also confirmed yesterday that "there is a process in England" and that it was asked to Portugal, within the scope of international judicial cooperation, "to carry out some proceedings".

The Portuguese team will support the British unit in charge of 'Operation Grange', from the Metropolitan Police, who are reviewing all the leads.

On the Side

Praia da Luz wants to forget the Maddie Case
In Praia da Luz, in Lagos, is where the tourist resort of the Ocean Club is, where the McCanns were staying at the time when Madeleine disappeared - the people of Luz want to "forget" about the case that has placed the locality in the eyes of the world for the "worst reasons". In their opinion, the case has affected adversely local tourism. "We have been severely damaged" guarantee the population.

Maddie Case: Does it make sense to carry on with the investigation?

YES
No one can be absolutely at peace until it is established and made public what really happened to Madeleine McCann. The investigation should never have been closed and it should never have given in to political pressure.

NO
There will be very few cases in Portugal who have had from the police authorities an investigation as thorough and exhaustive. The truth is that, here as abroad, there are mysteries that neither time can set apart. The case of the small child Maddie is one of them.

Bravo for S.Y. They managed  to surround 6 very dangerous fellows. We even know their names : James Nokia, Ron Blackberry, Pete Samsung, Sony Erickson, Tom Apple. But the most dangerous is Mister Pay and Go whose name is obviously linked with the delivery of  kidnapped children.

I've read that following the filmed reconstruction, the McCanns will be interviewed "live". Any chance they will be 'cuffed and arrested during this performance?

No not a chance if the article is to be believed to be true that K and G banned the reconstruction in Portugal so as not to anger the police. Just who is running this investigation. How many time has it been said that SY are too close to the McCs now it seems even SY and the crimewatch team take their orders from the McCs,

If this is true why are they tipping off these "suspects"? I never understand that logic and not seen it before in a major enquiry!

No way would they be able to do the recon in PDL. Just imagine it might lead to the truth? It will be set in a studio, it will make it appear that the Tapas bar was in the 'back garden' of apt 5a i will be a total utter con.

How can you do a recon somewhere else, how?

It has to be in the place where she went missing....have they found s place in the uk that looks exactly like pdl with a tapas exactly the same distance away from the apt ?

That's ridiculous ..

What's the betting it will be Kate and Gerry McCann talking about THEIR account off what happened that night and then it will zoom to a pic off a child in bed cuddling up with her blanket and then zoom back with the child missing with a window open and the curtains billowing in the wind whilst Kate McCann saying she searched the apt

Bits and bobs off what happened that day and even may see her being tucked up in bed, which never happened off course but the recon is being run by the mccanns after all.

It won't be a recon and my betting is, they weren't allowed to do it in pdl and they wouldnt off done it there anyway...it's a Portuguese case NOT British and the mccanns would off been made to be in the recon anyway if they did it there by the pj.

plus the fact the Tapas 9 turned down the proposed recon requested by the Portugese , as long ago as 2008. Stuart Prior was responsible for that because Rachel Mapilly e mailed him asking if he thought it would be useful. Prior replied "I don"t think any useful purpose would be served.".

I actually wrote him a letter about that, no reply , but you do have to wonder at the impartiality of the Police when they became too friendly with the
group, Gerry even addressing Stuart as "Stu" in an e-mail.

How can they ban something taking place in PDL.   I wonder why they don't want it taking place in PDL.  They're not even involved with the reconstructions.  It's actors.

Apparently they don't want to upset the Portuguese police! Well, when did they become bothered about doing that?

No theyre not bothered about upsetting the Portuguese police, they might be asked by the PJ to do a real one, that's why they wont go back there, anyway haven't we already had a pretend recon where K s role ended up not appearing cos it would fit in the timeline.   Anyone else think "Call me Stu" will be eating his words now and feeling a tad foolish. someone else who got too close ......

K might be concerned that the f*****f T????R might want a word with her.

The Sunday Daily Star states that the McCanns turned down the "request" by Scotland Yard to be involved in the reconstruction. Although I think this reconstruction is all show business, I have to wonder why the parents of a "missing" child would deny the request of law enforcement to participate. But then again, they haven't co-operated since day one; and who can forget that Kate refused to answer the 48 questions put to her early on.

If their behavior and continued lack of co-operation doesn't raise ????'s for Scotland Yard, I can't for the life of me understand the continuing abduction/kidnap rubbish.

How the hell can you turn down a request by Scotland Yard to be involved in a reconstruction to help your daughter.

All the money that's being spent here I think its an insult. They seem to be available for everything else that's filmed ...why not this.

Well I just hope that is included in the programme ...that they declined to appear so actors had to be used.

I'm sick to death of reading how the McCanns are so "excited" to learn of all the so-called new information.

Hasn't law enforcement heard of the old adage, "Look at the in-laws before you look at the out-laws"??

Well in this case make that "parents" first.

My frustration is beginning to affect my blood pressure.

What is also surprising about refusing to do the reconstruction, all they would really have to do is sit in a restaurant sipping wine.
