Just a job lot of failed gastric bands is the best you can say about these people who think its ok to leave 3 little babies alone while they go out with their mates and gorge themselves on food and wine and boast about their bloated ego's while their babies remain vulnerable to God knows what all on their own.

Thanks, though i appreciate it is no great virtue to throw around gratuitous insults at these people one cannot help but see a common denominator or two in the average mccann fan, sycophantic, overweight, ugly irresponsible, pissed and usually quite a long way up their own arses. The performances of the likes of denise belch, carol mcguffin and vanessa feltz in the two bit reality shows explains this quite well i think.

I don't suppose we can find out if she is a member of the National Union of Journalists but, if she is, she must be breaching their guidelines for responsible and fair reporting.
NBY I think you should ask the NUJ if she (and others who have printed rubbish) is a member. they might tell you. If she is she has undoubtedly breached their code of conduct for members. google NUJ code of conduct to get their rules.

I've sent the NUJ an e-mail and will let you know if I hear from them. I suspect this will be a Data Protection issue but it does no harm to ask.

It's all part of the brainwashing industry: get your misinformation out via homely icons, 'just like you and me' and the population at large will believe it. Forever, because she's like them, but a celebrity and so mumsytoo. What's not to like?
The glittering screen has a hypnotic effect too imo .

Atta girl! Writing to the NUJ á

It's not known yet if she is a member. The reaction from the NUJ might be that they wouldn't touch her with a bargepole!

Actually NBY, a friend who is in the NUJ told me the union is desparate for new members as they have lost many members due to newspaper closures and changes in the media generally. He feels the NUJ would take a complaint about Crimewatch seriously assuming it is as inaccurate as we fear. Professional journalists in the proper sense of the term would wish to belong to the NUJ but unprofessional ones wouldn't as they would have to sign up to the NUJ ethical code which covers inconvenient things like accuracy, bias etc. Also racist reporting is out and the stuff printed about the Portuguese police is certainly racist.

Pat Brown

Criminal Profiler Pat Brown
Thursday, October 4, 2007

http://www.mccannfiles.com/id191.html

I know this is a very old article, but the following strikes me as still relevant:

"Let's look at the supposed facts: if the DNA from Madeleine in the hire car exists, the McCanns are guilty as hell. If there is blood from Madeleine on the stairs, this only proves she was injured but not by who. If there are sedatives in her hair, this is pretty damning. So much for the "facts." Let's turn toward the McCanns and their behaviors. Behavioral evidence is not conclusive evidence. It is useful in determining investigative avenues to focus on and interview methodology. It is circumstantial evidence and can lend weight to a case in court but rarely can stand alone without physical evidence to support guilt." ...

The same can be said about the dogs' contribution. áNobody expects the dogs to stand up and woof in court, despite what the pros claimed. That evidence only serves to offer another piece of the jigsaw. áPat Brown goes on to quote Gerry McCann when he talks about the 'moment' the crime happened, and points out that they have never expressed any concern about the simple fact that extremely young children were left alone for significant amounts of time, because then they would be admitting to child negligence.

"If the MOMENT refers to a time when Kate and Gerry were off partying and Madeleine suffered a serious injury from falling down the steps or had overdosed on sedatives, they might feel guilty they were not there at that MOMENT because as doctors, had they been there at that MOMENT, they might have been able to administer medical care and save Maddy's life. Gerry then would be admitting that MOMENTS do count and leaving your child unattended for even a MOMENT can effectively contribute to the child's death." ...

"If the McCanns are innocent of having anything to do with Maddy's disappearance, I feel sorry that they have had to suffer all the allegations on top of the anguish of losing a daughter. However, I feel much sorrier for Madeleine, who would have had to suffer through a horrible sexual assault and a violent end to her life because of willful neglect of her parents.

The McCanns are reaping what they sowed and there are responsible for the results of their actions. They only anger they should express is towards themselves, not the police or public trying to find out what happened to Maddy, and the only horror they should feel should be at their own actions and the horrible hurt it brought to their innocent little girl."
...

If you haven't yet looked at this website it's well worth reading. áI know Pat Brown is generally well-respected on here. áShe makes sense of why it is logical to suspect the parents' involvement in cases like this. áIt's also relevant at a time when they're persisting with their legitigation of anyone they feel hasn't bowed down to them.
