Immigration: ‘Barbed wire to keep refugees away’
29 November 2013PresseuropJyllands-Posten Jyllands-Posten, 29 November 2013
“At a time when up to three million Syrian refugees are attempting to flee from war and destruction, the EU is building barbed wire fences, installing surveillance cameras and sending battleships to the Mediterranean to prevent the arrival of refugees,” writes Jyllands-Posten.
The newspaper enumerates the initiatives underway in Europe, from the 10.5km long barrier built by Athens on the Greek-Turkish border, to the 30km construction between Bulgaria and Turkey. A representative of the Red Cross quoted by the newspaper explains that the “attempt to bypass [these barriers] to enter the EU could be fatal.”
For their part, Greek authorities have rejected more than 2,000 asylum applications from Syrian refugees, which is “a breach of international conventions on the right to asylum and a concern for the UN High Commission for Refugees,” notes Jyllands-Posten.

I hope Cameron learns of this and closes the Border , never mind a 3 month wait for Benefits.
