Cameron fudging the vote on a Referendum once again. Empty Cameron fudging the referendum

Post  katertaif Mon 31 Mar - 15:43

Good Afternoon Panda

I was surprised when I was in hospital recently to find there are still people who think Cameron is actually going to give us a referendum. The comment was made that he has made the referendum dependent on the conservatives being returned to power.

That was indeed part of it, but he also added another caveat. A referendum after successful negotiations aimed at reforming the EU. Well what happens if those "successful" negotiations don't happen? We have little enough sway now with all the countries who are nett receivers of cash, and therefore a vested interest in things staying as they are. Angela Merkel made a speech only a few days ago, basically saying quite bluntly that in Effect Europe was not going to change to suit us.

So it is very doubtful that any such negotiations will be successful, and therefore their will be no referendum. It would not surprise me greatly if somewhere long the line, Barrosso and his fellow thieves engineered yet another treaty to obviate any referendum.

Remember we have had two referenda promised and reneged on. There is also the example of Eire, who gave the wrong answer and were told to do it again.

Did they really?, Good afternoon by the way.

Barosso has already said Britain cannot leave the EU and let's face it , although we are the second largest donor, Britain is not very popular. There was a Documentary a few months ago on T.V. and the amount spent by the EU on pen pushing is staggering. Why is Cameron such a wimp? is he listening to big business ? we export very little to the EU and lost our Farming industry to France who get a massive subsidy from the EU. The rate at which Countries are borrowing EU Money is staggering , are they ever going to get their money back. I don't know about now, but for years the Auditors could not sign off the EU accounts because it couldn't balance the Books.

Good evening Panda

Yes the claim in the Eire referendum was that the wrong question had been asked so they had to do it again with the right question. Of course given that the referendum had been mooted for several weeks and the exact wording of the question pored over ad nauseam, anyone who believes that believes in leprechauns.

They gave the wrong answer pure and simple. Barroso has also said that anyone wanting to leave the EU should have no voice anyway. A highly democratic attitude.

Why can we not stay in the EU under the original terms? A mutually beneficial trading club. It was pointed out in a documentary this very evening that African farmers particularly would be disadvantaged by that. Well that is not my main concern. Money has been poured into Africa on the backs of various charities by the billions. Are they any better off? No, because the never ending internecine wars make sure they are not.

There are now too many countries who are members for what they can get out of the EU, and not for what they can contribute. Greece is probably the most blatant example but by no means the only one. Now we have Ukraine wanting it's hands in the sweetie jar which caused the present problems, and killings. Turkey is championed by Cameron (the guy who is going to give us a referendum? I think not) These countries are net takers, while you have pointed out yourself Panda that we are among the highest contributors. They have a vested interest in the status quo. In other word keep giving us your money. They will outvote us at every turn.

Morning katertaif The Country is in a mess and it needs strong Leadership and a competent Parliament , which clearly we do not have . What , if anything, can be done? As i type this it has just been announced that the Taxpayer lost £700 million on the sale of P.O. Shares, unbeleiveable isn't it.!!

Margaret Hodge I would like to see as the new Leader , she is tough and down to earth and commented that the Taxpayer should have kept 10% of the shares , Vince Cable has been a hapless Business MP and should have been replaced a while ago.

As regards staying in the EU, Ukraine will be the next Country to join and the Country is borrowing £108 Billion from the IMF and EU, did the EU have a vote on this?

Morning Panda,

I don't really know whether the Ukraine will be the next member of the EU or Turkey. Ukraine depends on what Mr. Putin has up his sleeve. Just because things have quietened down a little it isn't over yet by a long way.

Of course whether Ukraine Turkey or whoever I have to agree, as one of the nett providers, whoever will want a large slice of our money. That is the sole reason they wish to join. Yet each and every month we ourselves are borrowing from our rich uncle, and paying it back with interest (if we ever do get to pay it back) It doesn't make sense, in any context.

That is exactly what we are doing. We are borrowing money and paying it back with interest to give to foreign aid, corrupt governments, and any members of the EU who, unable to manage themselves come straight to us, with the begging bowl out. We are subsidising Space programmes, Missile programmes, Nuclear weapon programmes, foreign wars and inefficient foreign industry. None of which we can afford for ourselves.

It is bordering on lunacy.

Morning keterfail

Britain likes to think that it is a generous and caring Country but the real reason is Politicians still think of Britain being one of the World Powers which clearly it is not but the fact that English is still the International language does help, the Commonwealth too is still pro British . The biggest problem we have is illegals and those who live here but their alleigance is for the Country they came from.

There is something seriously wrong with our Intelligence service that they are not picking up on the likes of the recent incidence when a Foreigner can act as a helper to raise money for Syrian refugee children then use the money to fly there and become a suicide bomber.

Hi Panda

I don't think it is our security services letting us down. I believe they are doing the best they can with the resources they have. It's our so called politicians. How many have they interceded for to get them out of Guantanamo bay, given them a generous compensation payment, and resettled them back in "their country" In other words Britain?

How many have reneged, proving that they were in fact the terrorists that the US said they were all along? Yet we don't learn from it. There is in fact an old saying, that you learn from your mistakes. I don't believe that, I think we learn from our successes. When it comes to the threat of Islam we have no such successes to learn from.

I agree with you 100% that our politicians are living in the past. We were once a well respected and absolutely first world country. We are no longer. but I agree our politicians continue to behave as if we were. Of course it suits them in their arrogance to do so. that way they can strut self importantly around the world stage, with our own begging bowl discreetly behind us, pretending we are something we are not.

I don't really believe the commonwealth respects us any more. At least their actions say they don't. Australia has a very strong, and very vocal republican break away element, as does Canada. The Indian premier told Cameron recently quite bluntly that we have nothing they want. Apart for course from misguided companies setting up their businesses there, and as long as we fill their begging bowls whenever they have a flood, or earthquake, or Tsunami or whatever. after all, we can't expect India to divert their own money from Missile, space, nuclear weapons programmes merely to build a school can we? That's what we're for. Other than that we have nothing they want, they already have our steelmaking technology, not to mention Jaguar/Land Rover.

Pakistan of course is in a class of it's own. Also requiring us to refill their begging bowls, as well as resettle their citizens over here, as fast as possible.

Hi katertaif,

actually it is the Queen who is keeping the Commonwealth together, she is very hardworking and keeps abreast on what is going on there , when she dies the Commonwealth will die with her.

Pakistan was made a seperate Country from India by the British and its population given dual citizenship , I don't think the Pakistanis are a problem , it's the Middle East Muslims who have not been vetted and were responsible for the London Bus Bombings , have taken over in many areas , have their own Banks, Lawyers, Doctors schools etc and make no attempt to integrate, that we should be worried about. Why did we give them their own Schools?? This way they are not mixing with other children , will never make friends with non muslims and as our population shrinks, theirs grows. The Muslim Brotherhood is under investigation and Embassies around the World have been asked to provide any information they may have. Cameron wants this sorted before the Summer recess. Again, I ask where is MI5, the Foreign Office, Ambassadors around the world keeping us informed. ?? If you say an organisation calling themselves the Muslim Brotherhood is not suspect I don't know what is. Cameron fudging the vote on a Referendum once again. 294124

The Queen does, as you say do a great deal of sterling work. It's just a great pity that our elected representatives do not take her as an example, although on occasion the Royal Family have not been above smoothing their own paths either.

I cannot agree that Pakistanis are not inherently part of the problem I fully agree that Pakistan came into being, without thought and the arbitrary line between it and India, was even less thought out. That doesn't alter the basic tenet that Muslims are Muslims. There is in effect no such thing as a moderate Muslim. Who is it taking advantage of the arranged marriage scam? What nationality are the majority of those in Guantanamo.? From which stock are the suicide bombers and the so called jihadists now in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Libya etc.

Once you start making exceptions for them that's it. it's the Pakistani ladies walking round in full Guinness bottle regalia. Yes they do mostly own businesses that includes the Halal slaughter of animals. I don't disagree that the Middle Eastern Muslims are any better but they are all of the same stock. A global Caliphate is the goal of all of them.

I didn't think the Pakistanis were as brutal as the Middle East , but if you say so and know your history, I accept . They don't have several wives though , the Pakistanis are the ones who claim the most benefit so says a friend who works for the DHSS. Border Patrol is incapable of stopping their arrival and as the Sony Presentation predicted Muslims will rule the World within the next two generations. I suggested Badboy download Zeitgeist and Zeitguist Addendum , avaiilable on youtube the first one deals with thw World economy , very interesting , it's quite a dark picture but that's how it is, not your Computer.
