A operação foi desencadeada a pedido da Scotland Yard, que quer fazer um rastreio com geo-radar num descampado próximo do apartamento de onde a menina desapareceu há sete anos. Hoje ficou concluída uma primeira análise da zona onde a polícia britânica admite que possa estar enterrado o seu corpo. Os custos desta e de todas as diligências que vierem a ser feitas deverão ser suportados pela Scotland Yard.

The operation was initiated at the request of Scotland Yard, who wants to make a trace with geo-radar in a field near the apartment where the girl disappeared seven years ago. Today was a first complete analysis of the area where the British police admit that her body may be buried . The costs of this and all efforts that may be made shall be borne by Scotland Yard.

It's not new, but isn't this the first time we've actually seen the word BODY in a headline recently? Will the McCanns now open a law suit against RTP?

Thats quite right.....'evidence' has been the word the british press have used and i cant understand at why the mccanns are bleating on about the headlines being offensive when all they are reporting is what is actually happening.

Digging for evidence.....i mean we all knew what they meant.

Well at first I thought maybe they mean digging for clothing or other articles. Strange that it should happen now after seven years. Iwonder if something has turned up that has led to this. Who knows what information Crimewatch has turned up. I wouldn't be surprised if it stemmed from there.

Lots of questions to be asked if her body is found in close proximity to apartment 5a. If the abductee took her, brought her somewhere, he would then have to return at a later stage to bury her. Not possible given all the attention around the Ocean Club.

If she did not leave apartment 5a alive, then the abductr must have killed her there, stayed for enough time for cadaver to develop, then taken her and buried her. Not possible either, given the frequency of the excellent checking system in place. He would also need to be an abductor who travels looking for victims with a shovel under his arm, just in case he accidentally killed his intended victim.

So searching for a body brings up a lot of questions, not least how could an abductor have done it. It throws the libel trial into disarray - I know it's a separate entity, but how do they continue with it. Most of all, nobody needs good quality wristbands, luggage tags or posters when packing for their holiday this year, bye bye Fund.

This is definitely what Gerry would class as a disaster.
