Cameron has sacked, or caused to resign a number of high flyers in the government. So far I have no problem with that, as many of them were useless anyway. who are they going to be replaced with? I have said before that I would have no objection to the entire H. of C. and for that matter the H. of L. consisting of the fair sex. As long as they were the best we had available. Not because it is politically correct. Nothing more than a form of apartheid. I imagine some at least will be of ethnic origin, and again I have only one objection; have they been elevated because of what they are rather than what they can contribute.

If it was so wrong for S. Africa and for the matter of that, Australia (not so long ago) to reserve jobs for whites only then it must be equally wrong to reserve jobs based on gender or ethnicity. I say again that is nothing more than apartheid. you are promoting someone not necessarily because the are the best available (they may be, in which case I have no objection at all) They are being promoted on skin colour and/or gender. That's it in a nutshell. It is wrong utterly wrong, and ultimately is not in this countries or indeed any countries best interests.

I also object to those who are being shuffled from one department to another. how is it possible that these people are so intelligent that they are able to deal effectively in so many different fields calling for so many differing skills and knowledge? Of course it isn't possible and again is not in our best interests to try to make it so.

I agree Katertaif, it should be whoever is best for the job, whoever that may be. Sadly this does not happen very often these days. It is the politically correct, namby pamby forms of government that has got us in the mess we are in. Oh for some decisive, firm, sensible leadership. A government who would make strong decisions for the good of the country. Those days are long gone.
