Fighting between Migrants wanting to get to the U.K from Calais

There are hundreds of them from many different Countries , tensions are high because they wait to get on Container Lorries etc heading for the U.K. Theresa May is proving completely incompetent as a home Secretary and if we get an influx of more illegals from Calais she will be demoted.

I find the sight of these people so desperate to get to England , a truly sad sight really.we cant take all really ,but I still find it so desperate from their standpoint ,seems have travelled so far to get to the point of getting across the sea to here . Wonder if they will become desperate again when they find streets not golden and benefits could be stopped too ? joyce 1938, sorry to ramble .

I would think the majority of people feel sorry for them but the fact is the UK can't possibly take them all. We are overstretched/overcrowded as it is.

I also feel sorry for the people of Calais having them camping out in their town and for Italy dealing with boat loads of them arriving daily.

There's really no answer to it.

There's no short term answer to the problem but there is a long term answer. they are economic migrants and they see no hope of work and a decent standard of living in their own country which is why they take risks to get into EU countries. The EU or world bodies like the UN need to have policies to help the countries they come from so they don't need to travel. We need to watch aid that may be abused by the countries we give it to. We need good governments in their countries who are genuinely working for their citizens and not feathering their own nests. All very difficult to achieve but that is the answer. In the short term we have to have publicity in their countries to get over the message that the streets of London are not paved with gold.

INDEED ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THOSE COUNTRIES MIGHT MAKE PEOPLE THINK NO NEED TO MOVE TO OTHER COUNTRIES.

MAYBE ERITREA COULD PROMOTE ITS RED SEA POSITION PERHAPS SNORKELLING ETC OR MOUNTAINIOUS SCENERY.

It amazes me how they manage to get from their own Country to arrive in Calais!! I do feel sorry for them and think something like the IMF
should be taking an active part in helping these poor Countries . Their remit is to offer financial aid and help the Governments create small businesses to ease unemployment .

The Container Lorries play a big part in hiding illegals (for a fee) until they reach the U.K. , let's hope Theresa May does her job and makes sure no more enter Britain. The Council where I live recently did a house to house survey to establish how many occupants were living in Houses.
A friend told me the Council found 14 "renting " the house next door to her. !!!

How are we ever going to stop the tyrants taking all the money we give in aid, impossible. It is a no win situation. We cannot interfere with the governments of these countries unfortunately. We have tried it before and it certainly does not work. I don't think they would take any notice of notices, they want to get here and that is it. Travelling through many countries to do so. Only by sending them back right away can we get the message across. It sounds cruel but we cannot keep taking people or we will be in the same boat ourselves soon.

I saw a man being interviewed last night that had already been deported from this country before but still determined to get in again. He says he wants to go to college ( it seems they all do) he was no youngster. He said that he knew that he could get paid money and given a place to live! We must show them that they cannot.

I expect the French authorities turn a few blind eyes to them getting in the lorries as they reckon it is our problem. So much for EU solidarity.

We still have fraud and goodness knows what else in European Gvts....how we could ever hope to change anything in African countries is beyond me.

The Border Agency has lost track of so many illegals we will never know how many there are and the U.K. has also the EuroStar for illegals with a few bob it is so easy . Board it in Belgium where there is no check on visas or passports and when you arrive in St Pancras you just walk away, no check there either.

TM is useless....how is she still in that job???

God knows Angelina, she stays whilst others doing a good job have been put out to pasture. You know, the ones that did not suit for winning the next election.

It is rumoured that Theresa May was ready to challenge Cameron for the leadership but Boris has finally thrown his hat into the ring and I think Theresa will be demoted after the next Election.
