Didn't the Committee refuse because of the birds in the Estuary? What about the Residents directly affected by the Aircraft Noise day and night, the villages to be torn down to make a rail link if the runway is allowed at Heathrow, etc etc

Boris loses but vows to carry on the crusade

A third runway at Heathrow is "political Kryptonite", the Mayor claimed and would run into "immovable political opposition" because of the noise and environmental consequences for "a million or more Londoners".
"political Kryptonite".....I love it He does care about people and Heathrow is a hellhole for passengers who have to fly from there.
