His Father is in Spain to put his property on the market, valued at £90,000 , but time is of the essence,  I think there is such outrage over the way the Police have behaved that the Judge might order the NHS to pay the cost if Ashya cannot have the Proton treatment in the U.K. Just reported that Ashyas older Brother is with him and his health hasn't deteriorated,. if all goes well his Parents will be with him tomorrow.

Latest news, the Court in Spain is closed so the idea is to get a Judge to rescind the Arrest warrant earlier. The Police have indicated that the Parents can go now to the Hospital , 300 miles away. !!!!! The Spanish Hospital Staff are guarding Ashya and no one except his family will be allowed to see him.

I would have thought it was obvious now that the Judge has had to ask the Spanish to rescind the Arrest Warrant issued on Police advice. If you read earlier posts you will see that Ashya Parents are 300 miles away from him, luckily with his older brother at his bedside.

No, it's not obvious. The policeman acted at the time in good faith on the information he was given. Now can you please explain why you think he should be sacked.

Iris wrote:It said on the news at One that a European Arrest Warrant had been issued.

The parents take their child out of hospital, to a different place, and sell their property to fund treatment in another country.  And a EAW is issued.

The McCanns leave their child alone, in a strange place, she disappears and they leg it back to the UK.  And NO EAW is issued, in fact quite the opposite!

None of it makes any sense.

Quite right Iris it doesn't seem to make any sense. The parents of this poor little mite may; I say may not have done everything by the book but it seems that unlike some they are prepared to sell their holiday home in Spain, a holiday home I have no doubt they scrimped and saved to buy, purely to find the money to treat their little boy. They should be getting a medal for that, not arrested.

Over the years millions of pounds have been donated to send, mainly children to hospitals in the US or wherever to get treatment not available here. That little Pakistani girl shot in the head by terrorists was brought here because they couldn't treat her properly in Pakistan. Quite right and proper. We could treat her, and they couldn't. So why are the Kings any different? especially since they are paying for it themselves. BTW if you know of any way to send a donation would you be kind enough to let me know?

It seems that little boy is so ill that no one knows whether or not he realises his parents are with him. It certainly can't be doing him any good having them in a Spanish jail.

Your parallel with the McCanns actions makes it even more inexplicable

I don't know why we pay stamp because when we need treatment....we don't get it and when we finally do get it....the doctors act like it's coming out off there own pocket.

To start with, a bit off respect wouldn't go amiss, calling us by our first name would make us feel a bit like they actually care and more personal and not shoving pills down our throat in the hope it will go away to save them money and telling us to go away and go see our doctor if it persists ....doesn't help our recovery .

I have seen it in A & E and I have no doubt that if I were to have a heart attack I would die waiting...after they ask my age off course and they do the calculations off how much it would cost to save me and would it be worth it.

You said the policeman who stood in front of the cameras giving out information he got from medical experts saying Ashyas life was in danger should be sacked. What should he have done with that information, remembering that Ashays parents could not be contacted at the time and in the Medical experts opinion, time was of the essence?

Brett King says Southampton Hospital knew they were taking Ashya abroad, but a doctor from the hospital denies they overreacted.1:14pm UK, Wednesday 03 September 2014

Ashya King's father has claimed his family were "treated like terrorists" after they were arrested.

An angry Brett King said he told Southampton Hospital, where the five-year-old was receiving treatment, that they were going to travel abroad so Ashya could receive alternative treatment.

But Doctor Peter Wilson from the hospital said: "We absolutely refute that we over-egged it."

When asked if he would do the same thing again, Mr King told Sky News: "Of course. My son's worth everything.

"Worth me going to prison, worth everything, because they were going to kill him in England or turn him into a vegetable."

Mr King also gave a glimpse into the strain the ordeal had placed on his wife, Naghemeh, who was sat beside him.

Naghemeh and Brett King, parents of Ashya King, attend a news conference in the Andalusian capital of Seville
Brett King said Ashya was 'worth everything'
He told a news conference she had spent most of the time in a Spanish prison crying and that he had considered moving cells because he could not bear listening to it.

He said: "Being locked up you can't do anything. You can't help your son, you can’t help your wife. And you don't know the future; what's going to happen to Ashya without us. We didn't know what was happening.

"Hopefully now we can see our son, we can be together, we can show love to him, because without that there's no purpose to life.

Ashya King's parents Brett and Naghemeh leave jail in Spain.
Brett and Naghemeh King leave jail on Tuesday night
"We just want to help my son get through this bad time because he hasn't got too many months to live and we are locked away in a cell."

Dr Wilson said that while the hospital was aware the family wanted to go to a clinic in the Czech Republic, "at no stage did the family say to us that they were going to take Ashya and go to Prague".

"When we found that he was missing from the trust, we were at first slightly surprised, and then very very worried.

ASHYA KING AND BRETT KING
Ashya with his father, Brett
"There's quite a lot of information surrounding this case that we've not been able to share with the media that made us worry for Ashya's safety.

"We therefore, after having looked for him to ensure that we were not over-egging and jumping to conclusions, we did what we should and what any doctor or nurse does in this situation, which is contact the police."

The proton clinic in Prague has said clinicians there are ready to treat Ashya after receiving his medical notes.

Ashya King journey
Clinicians there have been in contact with Ashya's specialists at Southampton Hospital, who have agreed to refer him to the clinic after two cycles of chemotherapy in the UK, which is likely to take several weeks.

Mr and Mrs King will be reunited with their son later today after being released following the Crown Prosecution Service's (CPS) decision to drop the case against them.

They were detained on Saturday near Malaga and taken to Madrid, where they were kept in separate jails, pending an extradition hearing.

The family were planning to sell their house in Spain to help pay for the private treatment.

I guess that means that Portsmouth Council has taken out a Care Order, but that does not necessarily mean that a parent cannot see the child. I've worked in Child Protection and parents can have supervised visits when there is a Care Order. Sounds like Portsmouth Council is being difficult.
