Yes, it deffo seems to be a Google Results problem - there are two threads on this support sub-forum covering this very topic:

Thanks for the link almostgothic. I've been reading quite a few pages and got to ...

http://help.forumotion.com/t125416p30-only-topic-subdomain-that-been-black-listed

which seems to point to Norton blacklisting forumotion sub-domain sites saying they contain spam ads when the owners claim they do not. Other forumotion owners point to forumotion staff for being responsible.

There are many disgruntled forumotion owners out there so the problem is not just one or two sites.

Thanks for the extra info, whatsupdoc.

Re the spam ads on forumotion sites, I wonder if it's anything to do with this? (See link below)

There was a whole rash of these a while back and they do still pop up occasionally on forumotion sites.

Notice of removal from Google Search
September 17, 2014
Hello,
Due to a request under data protection law in Europe, we are no longer able to show one or more pages from your site in our search results in response to some search queries for names or other personal identifiers. Only results on European versions of Google are affected. No action is required from you.
These pages have not been blocked entirely from our search results, and will continue to appear for queries other than those specified by individuals in the European data protection law requests we have honored. Unfortunately, due to individual privacy concerns, we are not able to disclose which queries have been affected.
Please note that in many cases, the affected queries do not relate to the name of any person mentioned prominently on the page. For example, in some cases, the name may appear only in a comment section.
If you believe Google should be aware of additional information regarding this content that might result in a reversal or other change to this removal action, you can use our form at https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/eu-privacy-webmaster. Please note that we can't guarantee responses to submissions to that form.

Regards,
The Google Team

is that the home/main page is not affected but only certain pages which include the search parameter.

It occured to me that if malicious content was added to spam ads and Norton blacklisted the site then Google didn't include the site in their listings.

Well, there you go.

But we've still got Tony Bennett and Jill Havern spreading hysteria and rubbish amongst the panicking plebs -

Why did #Google remove the popular #JillHavern #McCann forum from its searches? Answer on pp. 20 & 21 of this thread: http://jillhavern.forumotion.net/t10593p200-jill-havern-forum-censored-and-removed-from-google-search …
