Buying votes

Post  katertaif on Wed 18 Mar - 23:56

After claiming that this budget would not attempt to buy votes just before an election as previous budgets have almost invariably done. Osborne has done just that. Even the Tory back benchers agree that if this strategy works and they get another 5 years, they will claw back all they have given away, and then some. labour says it would do almost the same, and the Lib Dems, just want to avoid another fiasco like the European elections. Meanwhile not a week goes by without further revelations of someone with his/her hands caught in the till. Osborne's figures are meaningless to most of us, each side throwing percentages around like confetti at a wedding. The saying "there are lies, damned lies, and statistics have never been more true". Take your pick when you vote in May.
