I haven't been following this child's sad case closely as it is not getting a lot of coverage here in Canada. However, I noticed today that the DM is reporting the child's parents believe she was abducted despite what the police believe. That similarity to Madeleine's case has me wondering what others may be thinking.

The family of Nora Quoirin say that their 'hearts are broken' following the finding of her body in Malaysia. It seems that post-mortem came back as inconclusive.

The police believe that she was alive for a week before dying from hunger and stress, but there was no sign of her being raped or kidnapped.

The 15-year-old died from, 'intestinal bleeding' after wandering through the jungle while search party's were looking for her, sadly finding her body three days after she had died.

Her family have asked the police to keep investigating for a possible crime even after the post-mortem had shown that Nora had likely starved and died of internal bleeding after being lost for over a week near the resort.

Thanks "malena stool" for your update. How horrendous for the poor child!! May she rest in peace!! So many questions going through my mind, but best keep them to myself at the moment (I'm sure others feel the same) "mysterious" doesn't come close. Thanks again!!

It's the similarities to the Madeleine case that strike out. Family of five on holiday, Nora shared bedroom with younger sister and brother (although the sister at 12 years and brother at 8). Nora, the poor child, described as having many challenges of speech, walking and co-ordination abilities trying to navigate the treacherous terrain of the jungle just doesn't sit well with me. On top of that, the parents claiming abduction and her little body being found at a location which had previously been searched.......so many unanswered questions. (Thanks again to "MS" for the reply.....I've been reading more about the case in the U.K. press.)

Another thing I forgot to mention earlier; If Nora was able to walk barefoot (or even with shoes) through that rough terrain given her challenges, I would expect her feet would show signs of stress, which (unless I missed it) wasn't mentioned in the autopsy report. As well, if she was abducted from the same room in which her 12 yr old and 8 yr old siblings were sleeping, I would expect at that age they would have been awakened. All in all, it's troubling.
