The sleeping twins

On the night of May 3, Kate McCann was just panicking, frightened for Madeleine and wondering what happened to her, according to a statement from Fiona Payne. She described to police what she saw, when she returned to the McCann apartment, after searching the area around Ocean Club, with other members of the group of friends, for five to ten minutes, following the alert that Madeleine was missing.

She went inside the children's room, noticed Madeleine's bed had the sheets quite kind of neatly, and the twins were fast asleep in their cots. While she opened the cupboards in the room, they remained asleep and didn't stir at all - something she thought was odd.

Kate McCann was frightened and the sensation of not being able to do anything made her angry, howling and punching and kicking walls – the reason why she was covered in bruises the next day, according to the statement of Fiona Payne.

Questioned if the twins didn't wake up, at all, she said they didn't and Kate kept going into the twins, kept putting her hands on the twins to check they were breathing, as she seemed very much concerned in checking they were okay.

Fiona Payne remembered that the twins never wake up, with all the noise, the screaming and the shouting, not even when police came and the lights were turned on – something that she thought, at the time, was weird.

couple of things ......................... I thought that K&G said that the kids slept soundly every night anyway so this lie has been proved several times. IF Kate was concerned about the twins why didnt she demand a blood test to determine if they were drugged? I mean IF your child has just been abducted and your two other kids are just not waking surely you be screaming for a dr they could have been drugged with anything? Did the GNR or PJ ask for them to be tetsted do we know?

I just read on the 3 A's that a nanny says in her statement that the twins were not in the cots and she arrived shortly after the alarm was raised?

Kate banging and hitting walls? Seems an odd thing to do because I am sure the anger would come days later and at that point you would just feel bewildered?

To me this sounds like the diapers in the car thing, you know making excuses upfront to counteract info what is in the file

Kate with bruises makes me feel very very uneasy

Kate kept checking to see if the twins were breathing? Why? Was she worried she'd overdosed them as well?

Any sensible parent , especially a doctor would have them 2 children out of their beds instantly to make certain that they were okay medically and had not been interfered with in anyway , not just leave them there and check their breathing ... mind you nothing surprises me with this lot ... :o)

Why was she so worried about them anyway?

She found her eldest child missing then leaves the other 2 in their beds while she runs back to the tapas bar....

Wasnt it like eating in your back garden? She could have shouted from the window right?

Kate and Gerry told police that hours before Madeleine vanished she asked: “Mummy, why didn’t you come when we were crying last night?”, a Spanish TV station claimed yesterday.
Telecinco said it had obtained leaked copies of the couple’s statements to Portuguese police in which they told of their surprise at their daughter’s comment.
Telecinco said Kate told police: “Gerry and I spoke for a couple of minutes and agreed to keep a closer watch over the children.”
Hours later, Madeleine disappeared from the apartment in Praia da Luz after being left alone with her twin brother and sister.
In the leaked transcripts, Kate recounts the moment she realised Madeleine was missing. She is said to have told police: “When I went to see Maddy, I realised that she was not there. I looked through the whole flat.
“I went towards the window and opened the curtains to see if she had climbed up there but I could see no trace of her.
In shock, I ran to the tapas bar and yelled to Gerry, ‘Maddy isn’t there, someone has taken her’.”
Gerry is quoted as telling police: “I thought it could not be and ran to the apartment.
“I looked everywhere, I returned to the children’s room and started to think about what could have happened.” The McCanns believe the leak has been deliberately timed to smear them on the day they made their plea to Euro MPs.
Spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “It is more than curious that this comment, taken in isolation and out of context, should now emerge on the very day they are in Brussels trying to improve children’s welfare and safety.”

Yes Kate but that someone could have been in the apartment and taken your other 2 but you still left them again!!

Actually saying that my dog sits by the front gate for hours when you leave the house until it realises you are not coming back for many more hours....ok it might be stupid....but at least its loyal The sleeping twins Icon_flower
