A POEM FOR AMY

I remember the day I first held you, and I was to know that you were mine to love, to care,
to protect.

To nuture your spirt and watch you grow.

With unconditional love I give you,

will never go unchecked

As the years went by, a young woman you have become

Now the day has come that you are not here.

Hiding my tears not wanting to show my pain and my fear.

I can not touch your face or see that beautiful smile.

The hope that you will be home soon.

Keeps me, but only for awhile

A part of my world has grown dark. And you have taken a peice of my heart.

Wondering where you are,and this ride of the uncertainty i embark

Trying to hold it together and not fall apart

Each night I pray to a god that i do not know,

hoping he will hear me soon one day.

Pray that he will lead you home safe and sound and here with me.

I am still waiting for that day.

That day will come when we will be together, and never again be apart.

I will look in your eyes and tell you that I love with all my heart And that I've missed every day that we have been apart.
