Re: What is your fave classical piece?
I wish I could have found Peter Donohoe playing Rach 2 - he's a wonderful pianist and I've heard him play it in concert. A number of years ago he almost lost the fingers of his left hand in an accident......... he recovered completely from the surgery (as you can hear!)

You'll hear better performances of Viv's 4 seasons - but Nige is certainly worth going to see in concert. He loves entertaining the audience - and they love him for it.

It might not be the right place to post it, but the composer of the Addams Family theme tune died recently.
As a lot of the Mc'Addams Family, namely "thing" fingers do their work on this and other forums I thought it was wise to mention this, where is Cousin IT, Were long haired hippies in charge of (Information Technology) in them days ????
Talking about long haired hippies, the O.U. appears to be getting some PR treatment lately.

A very appropriate place LA - it was a classic series (and I loved it).

This is my favourite version of this aria - I think Barbara knocks spots off Renee (Fleming), Kiri (Te Kanawa) and even Sofie (von Otter, who's let down by the small ensemble). When Die tote Stadt had its premiere on December 4, 1920, Korngold was just 23 years old:
Korngold isn't that well known - apart from this (1938):

As it's Hallowe'en, something a bit scary - the Dance of the Spectres and Furies from Gluck's Orpheus and Euridice
and a performance with a difference from Trinidad and Tobago
