A TWISTED woman who downloaded a sickening stash of child porn was caged for a year yesterday.



Evil Emma Griffin's vile hoard included horrific images of youngsters being raped and abused.

Some of the 24-year-old's disturbing video clips were rated at the worst level of pornography - which includes babies and children being sexually tortured.

Griffin was branded a "potential predator" yesterday after she admitted downloading more than 460 indecent images of children.

Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard she was snared after police raided her home in the town.

Chillingly, officers also found photos of the fiend near unsuspecting youngsters in public places.

Katie McColl, prosecuting, said: "The focus appeared to be on children in the background."

The court heard Griffin had shared files with other paedophiles and was caught after using her bank card as identification.

Sheriff Alistair Watson told Griffin her crime was "a matter of great concern which understandably provokes the disgust of the community".

He added: "This is an offence where every child is a victim.

"You didn't stumble upon these images. They were downloaded by you for your gratification."

The sheriff told how Griffin had shared her sickening interest with others and said he had concerns about the "significant sexual harm" caused to children in the images.

He told her a prison term was necessary "both to punish you and to act as a deterrent to others prepared to engage in this behaviour".

Douglas Macphee, defending, said Griffin herself had been abused.

Background reports described her as a "potential predator" who may have been protecting her partner.

The sheriff said: "Only she knows what her thought processes were."

Griffin was sentenced to one year in prison and two years on supervised licence.

She was also placed on the sex offenders' register for ten years.

This is what the judge originally said following Emma Griffin's guilty plea back in June:-

Sheriff Alistair Watson said he might not view the images in case "anger or upset" affected the sentence he will impose.

Mr Watson said he would consider whether he should view the images before sentencing, adding: "I would prefer not to. It is better not to sentence anyone while in a position of upset or anger."

IT chills us to the bone that kids in Scotland were used as sex slaves and filmed for the internet. It's terrifying that it's happening in our midst.

Thanks to Scotland's National Sex Crimes Unit, they've been rescued and the sickos who abused them are in custody.

But the unit must be hacked off with cases like that of evil Emma Griffin, who was up in court for downloading a stash of sickening child porn.

The 24-year-old had horrific pics of kids being raped and abused.

That it was a woman doing this is somehow even more disturbing.

Yet at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court she was only locked up for a year, after the sheriff told her she was a "potential predator". No. This twisted woman was ALREADY a predator. She was a predator from the moment she downloaded her first child porn image.

A year in jail means Griffin could be out in six months. It's disgusting.

People who watch child porn are part of the abuse just as much as the perpetrators.

What's the point of hunting them down if the courts show leniency?

Mum faces child porn charge

A MARRIED mother is to appear in court after being charged with child pornography offences, police revealed today.

Melanie Gunn, 36, has also resigned from her role as learning support manager at a secondary school after being accused of the sex crimes.

Gunn, the mother of a toddler, was arrested by police following a raid on her home in Alford, Lincolnshire

Officers seized computer equipment including hard drives and disks during the search.

When the equipment was examined officers allegedly found dozens of hardcore child porn images some of which show offences of bestiality involving small children.

Yesterday Gunn was charged with 11 offences of possessing indecent images of children and possession of extreme pornographic images.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: "The charges involved 79 still and moving indecent images of varying levels and 361 extreme pornographic images.

"She was initially arrested on 24 July at her home address and several computers, discs and hard-drives were seized.

"She answered bail and was subsequently charged with the offences."

Gunn's arrest is said to have no connection with the Little Teds Nursery case in Plymouth where toddlers were photographed being abused.

The spokesman added: "We are not aware of the existence of a link to any other offences in the UK."

Lincolnshire County Council confirmed that Gunn had been employed at the John Spendluffe Technology College in Alford at the time of her arrest.

A spokesman said: "Melanie Gunn was working as the independent learning support manager at the John Spendluffe Technology College but resigned from her position in August."

John Spendluffe College is a foundation technology college which has 636 pupils aged 11 to 16 and was assessed as "good" in its last Ofsted inspection back in 2006.

A police source today stressed the charges Gunn faces do not involve any child at the school or her own child.

The images found on her computer are believed to have been downloaded from internet pornography sites.

Gunn has now been released on police bail and is due to appear before Skegness magistrates next month.

Police have charged a 36-year old woman from Alford with possession of indecent images. Mrs Melanie Gunn was charged at Skegness Police Station yesterday, Wednesday 18 November with eleven offences of possessing indecent images of children and possession of extreme pornographic images. Mrs Gunn was released on bail and is due before Skegness Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 8 December.

A mother has appeared in court in Lincolnshire accused of child pornography offences.

Melanie Gunn, 36, of Driby, near Alford, was working at a secondary school when she was arrested following police raids at her home in July.

The married mother of a toddler is accused of making indecent images of children and possessing hundreds of extreme pornographic images.

She was granted bail by Skegness magistrates.

Mrs Gunn is accused of six offences of making indecent images of children between September 2007 and October 2008.

She is also accused of possessing 79 child pornography images and 361 extreme pornographic images.

She did not enter a plea to the charges at the hearing on Tuesday and the case was adjourned until February.

Lincolnshire County Council confirmed Mrs Gunn was employed as an independent support manager at the John Spendluffe Technology College in Alford at the time of her arrest, but she resigned in August.

The charges are not believed to involve any child at the school or her own child and the images from her computer are believed to have been downloaded from the internet.

A school support worker has pleaded guilty to possessing hundreds of images of child abuse, bestiality and sadism.

Melanie Gunn, 36, of Driby, near Alford, Lincolnshire, worked at John Spendluffe Technology College in Alford when she was arrested in July.

She admitted six offences of making indecent images of children and possessing 79 images showing the sexual abuse of children.

She also admitted having 296 extreme images showing bestiality and sadism.

Gunn, the married mother of a toddler, has been placed on the Sex Offenders' Register and was warned she faced prison when she is sentenced next month.

In the meantime she was granted bail.

The court heard the indecent images of children were made between September 2007 and October 2008.

Images depicting child sex abuse had been downloaded on to two laptops.

Lincolnshire County Council confirmed Mrs Gunn was employed as an independent support manager at the school at the time of her arrest, but she resigned in August.

The charges are not believed to relate to any child at the school nor to her own child.

Ontario mother guilty on child porn rap

OTTAWA -- A 31-year-old mother admitted Wednesday to possessing graphic videos of children being sexually abused.

Crystal Dodds pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography — three videos depicting sex between adults and children aged eight to 14 — last October.

The court heard that police learned the items were on a computer when they were called to a domestic dispute at Dodds’s home.

The videos depict acts including intercourse and oral sex, some purporting to be between a father and daughter.

Dodds was ordered to undergo a sexual behaviour assessment conducted by a psychiatrist and a complete pre-sentence report by a probation officer. Her lawyer said Dodds has had mental health problems and was battling post-partum depression — she’d recently given birth — at the time of the incident.

Her daughter is still with her and she is a threat to children. She admitted it and plaided guilty. The authorities just let her with her daughter and she is a danger to her. Who understands that?
