A TWISTED woman who downloaded a sickening stash of child porn was caged for a year yesterday.



Evil Emma Griffin's vile hoard included horrific images of youngsters being raped and abused.

Some of the 24-year-old's disturbing video clips were rated at the worst level of pornography - which includes babies and children being sexually tortured.

Griffin was branded a "potential predator" yesterday after she admitted downloading more than 460 indecent images of children.

Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard she was snared after police raided her home in the town.

Chillingly, officers also found photos of the fiend near unsuspecting youngsters in public places.

Katie McColl, prosecuting, said: "The focus appeared to be on children in the background."

The court heard Griffin had shared files with other paedophiles and was caught after using her bank card as identification.

Sheriff Alistair Watson told Griffin her crime was "a matter of great concern which understandably provokes the disgust of the community".

He added: "This is an offence where every child is a victim.

"You didn't stumble upon these images. They were downloaded by you for your gratification."

The sheriff told how Griffin had shared her sickening interest with others and said he had concerns about the "significant sexual harm" caused to children in the images.

He told her a prison term was necessary "both to punish you and to act as a deterrent to others prepared to engage in this behaviour".

Douglas Macphee, defending, said Griffin herself had been abused.

Background reports described her as a "potential predator" who may have been protecting her partner.

The sheriff said: "Only she knows what her thought processes were."

Griffin was sentenced to one year in prison and two years on supervised licence.

She was also placed on the sex offenders' register for ten years.

Sheriff Alistair Watson said he might not view the images in case "anger or upset" affected the sentence he will impose.

Mr Watson said he would consider whether he should view the images before sentencing, adding: "I would prefer not to. It is better not to sentence anyone while in a position of upset or anger."

IT chills us to the bone that kids in Scotland were used as sex slaves and filmed for the internet. It's terrifying that it's happening in our midst.

Thanks to Scotland's National Sex Crimes Unit, they've been rescued and the sickos who abused them are in custody.

But the unit must be hacked off with cases like that of evil Emma Griffin, who was up in court for downloading a stash of sickening child porn.

The 24-year-old had horrific pics of kids being raped and abused.

That it was a woman doing this is somehow even more disturbing.

Yet at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court she was only locked up for a year, after the sheriff told her she was a "potential predator". No. This twisted woman was ALREADY a predator. She was a predator from the moment she downloaded her first child porn image.

A year in jail means Griffin could be out in six months. It's disgusting.

People who watch child porn are part of the abuse just as much as the perpetrators.

What's the point of hunting them down if the courts show leniency?

Mum faces child porn charge

A MARRIED mother is to appear in court after being charged with child pornography offences, police revealed today.

Melanie Gunn, 36, has also resigned from her role as learning support manager at a secondary school after being accused of the sex crimes.

Gunn, the mother of a toddler, was arrested by police following a raid on her home in Alford, Lincolnshire

Officers seized computer equipment including hard drives and disks during the search.

When the equipment was examined officers allegedly found dozens of hardcore child porn images some of which show offences of bestiality involving small children.

Yesterday Gunn was charged with 11 offences of possessing indecent images of children and possession of extreme pornographic images.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: "The charges involved 79 still and moving indecent images of varying levels and 361 extreme pornographic images.

"She was initially arrested on 24 July at her home address and several computers, discs and hard-drives were seized.

"She answered bail and was subsequently charged with the offences."

Gunn's arrest is said to have no connection with the Little Teds Nursery case in Plymouth where toddlers were photographed being abused.

The spokesman added: "We are not aware of the existence of a link to any other offences in the UK."

Lincolnshire County Council confirmed that Gunn had been employed at the John Spendluffe Technology College in Alford at the time of her arrest.

A spokesman said: "Melanie Gunn was working as the independent learning support manager at the John Spendluffe Technology College but resigned from her position in August."

John Spendluffe College is a foundation technology college which has 636 pupils aged 11 to 16 and was assessed as "good" in its last Ofsted inspection back in 2006.

A police source today stressed the charges Gunn faces do not involve any child at the school or her own child.

The images found on her computer are believed to have been downloaded from internet pornography sites.

Gunn has now been released on police bail and is due to appear before Skegness magistrates next month.

A mother has appeared in court in Lincolnshire accused of child pornography offences.

Melanie Gunn, 36, of Driby, near Alford, was working at a secondary school when she was arrested following police raids at her home in July.

The married mother of a toddler is accused of making indecent images of children and possessing hundreds of extreme pornographic images.

She was granted bail by Skegness magistrates.

Mrs Gunn is accused of six offences of making indecent images of children between September 2007 and October 2008.

She is also accused of possessing 79 child pornography images and 361 extreme pornographic images.

She did not enter a plea to the charges at the hearing on Tuesday and the case was adjourned until February.

A school support worker has pleaded guilty to possessing hundreds of images of child abuse, bestiality and sadism.

Melanie Gunn, 36, of Driby, near Alford, Lincolnshire, worked at John Spendluffe Technology College in Alford when she was arrested in July.

She admitted six offences of making indecent images of children and possessing 79 images showing the sexual abuse of children.

She also admitted having 296 extreme images showing bestiality and sadism.

Gunn, the married mother of a toddler, has been placed on the Sex Offenders' Register and was warned she faced prison when she is sentenced next month.

In the meantime she was granted bail.

The court heard the indecent images of children were made between September 2007 and October 2008.

Images depicting child sex abuse had been downloaded on to two laptops.

Lincolnshire County Council confirmed Mrs Gunn was employed as an independent support manager at the school at the time of her arrest, but she resigned in August.

The charges are not believed to relate to any child at the school nor to her own child.

Ontario mother guilty on child porn rap

OTTAWA -- A 31-year-old mother admitted Wednesday to possessing graphic videos of children being sexually abused.

Crystal Dodds pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography — three videos depicting sex between adults and children aged eight to 14 — last October.

The court heard that police learned the items were on a computer when they were called to a domestic dispute at Dodds’s home.

The videos depict acts including intercourse and oral sex, some purporting to be between a father and daughter.

Dodds was ordered to undergo a sexual behaviour assessment conducted by a psychiatrist and a complete pre-sentence report by a probation officer. Her lawyer said Dodds has had mental health problems and was battling post-partum depression — she’d recently given birth — at the time of the incident.

A school manager was sentenced to four months in prison today after she was found with indecent images of children and videos of bestiality, police said.

Melanie Gunn, 37, from Driby, Lincolnshire, admitted nine charges of possessing indecent images of children and extreme pornography



Lincolnshire Police said today that they began an investigation after Gunn took her computer to an IT repair shop in Louth in July 2009.

The shop's owner found the indecent images and reported Gunn, who was independent learning manager at the John Spendluffe College in Alford, to police.

When detectives raided her home they discovered more images of child pornography, some in the most serious category, and sadistic videos, including acts of bestiality.

At Lincoln Crown Court today she was jailed for four months.

Gunn was also handed a lifetime ban from working with children and will be placed on the sex offenders register for seven years. She has already resigned from her job.

Detective Superintendent Guy Collings, who led the investigation, said: "Melanie Gunn was an outwardly respectable person, holding down a good job.

"I am delighted with the judge's decision to impose a custodial sentence as it sends out the clear message to anyone considering accessing these type of images that they will be dealt with seriously and can expect to go to prison.

"Behind every image there is a real child being abused and in distress."

Police launched an investigation that subsequently led to the arrest of Gunn and seizure of other computer equipment from her address. Further examination of this equipment revealed 79 indecent images of children varying from levels 1 to 5 plus 296 extreme pornographic images including images and videos portraying acts of sadism and bestiality.

Gunn, who resigned her position as Independent Learning Manager at the John Spendluffe College in Alford, pleaded guilty to a total of 9 counts of possessing still and moving images of children.

Sentencing Gunn, His Honour Judge Heath described the images as ‘absolutely disgusting’ and said “If it weren’t for people like you prepared to download such images, then those involved in this business would not prosper as they do”.

Ottawa woman charged with child porn possession

OTTAWA — A 22-year-old woman has been charged with possession of child pornography, after a video was found on her work computer, police said Friday.

She is the third woman to face child pornography charges since the Ottawa Police high tech crime/Internet child exploitation unit was set up in 2005, said Acting Sgt. Maureen Bryden.

Across the province, OPP charged 295 people in 2009 with child pornography offences, but only one woman.

“It’s very rare. I’ve been in this business for 19 years and I only recall less than half a dozen,” said Det. Staff Sgt. Frank Goldschmidt, who heads the child exploitation unit. “You get the odd one, but it’s very, very uncommon.”

Police arrested the woman after they investigated two reports received from Cybertip.ca, a tipline for the reporting of child sexual exploitation on the Internet, on Thursday. One of the tips reported a conversation about child pornography in an online chat room, police said.

Police have charged Morgan Raycroft, 22, with possession of child pornography.

Raycroft, a large blond-haired woman wearing a black and grey striped shirt, sat silently with her eyes cast downward before being released from custody on a $4,000 bond. The Crown did not oppose her release.

Raycroft was ordered not to communicate with anyone she believes is under 16 and not communicate with a lawyer representing her employer.

She was also ordered to stay 500 metres away from any school, park, playground, pool, community centre or anywhere children under 16 may gather.

Raycroft is not to have access to a computer, MP3, Xbox, Nintendo, digital camera, cellphone, Blackberry, or iPhone that has video or image capacity or any devices where media files can be stored. She was also ordered not to attend any Internet cafés or public libraries where Internet can be accessed.

Raycroft is scheduled to appear in court on June 24.

Sheboygan woman, 18, charged with e-mailing child porn

An 18-year-old Sheboygan (Wisconsin) woman was charged Wednesday for allegedly viewing and passing on a child pornography video via e-mail.



Leah R. Steinbruecker, of 2336 S. Ninth St., is charged with sexual exploitation of a child, a felony that carries a maximum penalty of seven and a half years in prison.

The video shows a girl approximately 8 to 10 years old performing sexual acts.

A criminal complaint said a state investigator discovered the video had been e-mailed from Steinbruecker’s house in April and alerted Sheboygan police in May. Investigators viewed the e-mail after serving a subpoena to Steinbruecker’s Internet service provider.

Steinbruecker initially denied any knowledge of the picture, but she later said she watched it “out of curiosity” and then deleted it, the complaint said. Confronted with the evidence, she admitted forwarding the video to other people, adding that she uses the e-mail address to send and receive pornography.

Agents Arrest Suwannee County Woman for Distribution of Child Pornography

Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Computer Crime Center and investigators with the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office yesterday arrested Angela Dawn Shillito, 36, of O’Brien, Florida, for possession and distribution of child pornography.

The investigation began May 28 after investigators observed images of child pornography being shared over the Internet. The investigation revealed the images were transmitted from Shillito’s residence.

Shillito was charged with 11 counts of possession of child pornography, a third degree felony, and 36 counts of distribution of child pornography, a second-degree felony. She was booked into the Suwannee County Jail.

FDLE is an active member of the three Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forces in Florida. There are 59 federally-funded task forces nationwide created solely to investigate Internet crimes against children that include the online sexual exploitation of children and child pornography.

McDowell woman pleads to child pornography charge

A McDowell Count, West Virginia woman admitted in federal court Monday that she e-mailed a picture of a nude 10-year-old girl to a man in Alaska.



Stacey Nichole Farmer, 32, of Squire, pleaded guilty to one count of transporting child pornography. Farmer wept as she described the contents of the picture to U.S. District Judge Irene C. Berger.

"She was nude," Farmer said of the girl, who is now 12 but was 10 years old when the picture was taken. "She was lying on the bed with her legs spread."

When the judge asked if the girl's face was visible in the photograph, Farmer replied, "Yes, ma'am."

Assistant U.S. Attorney Karen Schommer, referring to the girl only by her initials, said that the girl was wearing a dog collar and arm restraints in the photo.

"[Farmer] allowed a minor child to engage in sexually explicit conduct so that she could create images of it," Schommer said.

As part of Farmer's plea deal, the government dropped charges of permitting a minor to be used to create child pornography and production of child pornography.

Farmer, who is also known as Stacey Wright, produced several images of the minor between February and May 2009, according to a stipulation of facts entered as part of the plea.

The images depicted, among other things, sexual contact between Farmer and the minor," the stipulation reads.

There were also between 10 and 150 images of child pornography on Farmer's computer, according to the stipulation.

Farmer faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison with a possible maximum of 20 years when sentenced by Berger on Oct. 14.

In a separate case, a former child photographer was sentenced to 25 years in prison last week for receiving and possessing child pornography and receiving child pornography as a sex offender.

A federal jury convicted John Charles Wellman, 68, of Bluefield, of the charges in January 2009, according to court records.

Wellman, who took class pictures of young students in the Bluefield area, was required to register as a sex offender because of a 1987 conviction on charges of first-degree sexual abuse in Mercer County Circuit Court.

After West Virginia state troopers served a search warrant on his home in May 2007, Wellman admitted that he had collected child pornography for 30 years and had shared his extensive collection, which contained thousands of graphic images of children, over the Internet.

U.S. District Judge Thomas E. Johnston sentenced Wellman to 25 years in prison, to be followed by a lifetime of supervised release.

The West Virginia State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force conducted the investigation. This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood.

Birmingham woman pleads guilty to child pornography charges

A Birmingham, Alabama woman pleaded guilty today to federal child pornography charges today at a federal court hearing in Huntsville, the U.S. Attorney and Secret Service offices announced.

Lisa Michelle Runyan, 46, pleaded guilty in the hearing before U.S. District Judge Lynwood Smith.

Runyan is in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending sentencing, which is set for Oct. 19, according to federal court documents.

Runyan was indicted on one count of transporting child pornography across state lines in April 2007 and one count of possessing child pornography in December 2009, according to court documents.

Transporting child pornography carries a minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 years, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office. Both the transportation and the possession charges carry a maximum fine of $250,000. Conviction of these offenses will require registration by the defendant as a sex offender, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorneys Office.

The Mountain Brook Police Department and special agents of the Secret Service worked together in the investigation that led to the charges against Runyan.

Woman charged for obscene act of revenge against teen girl

A Salt Lake City woman is facing a slew of charges for seeking revenge against a 13-year-old girl. She distributed fliers around Northwest Middle School that contained a photo showing the teen's face on a pornographic image.

Danette Stark, 37, is behind bars facing 18 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Prosecutors say she Photoshopped the 13-year-old girl's yearbook photo with a pornographic picture she found on the Internet.

"This flier was a very realistic depiction that was very graphically displaying a young woman engaged in sex acts with an animal," said Salt Lake County District Attorney Lohra Miller said in a press conference Friday.

Prosecutes say Stark made dozens of copies of the fliers that also included several profane and derogatory terms at the bottom of the fliers.

But the parent of a student at Northwest Middle, who said her daughter is friends with the alleged victim, told KSL News off camera that Stark might be covering for her own daughter's actions.

The woman said Stark's daughter and the girl had a falling out. To save her daughter from getting in trouble, she believes Stark is taking the fall.

However, police say they have surveillance video of Stark with the fliers in the school. The May 25 video shows her walking into the seventh-grade girls' bathroom with the fliers. She also placed three or four fliers in the girl's locker.

The fliers were discovered the next day by a janitor. Ultimately, the school's assistant principal found 18 copies, resulting in 18 charges against Stark.

Stark says she made 30 copies, so prosecutors warn 12 fliers may still be out there.

"We consider these photos child porn," Miller said. "Under Utah law, any distribution of the photos is distribution of child porn. They should not be reproduced. They should not be shown to anyone."

Charging documents state Stark created the fliers to retaliate for perceived wrongs by the girl. Miller says regardless of the motive, the act is inexcusable.

"Any adult would recognize this behavior as unconscionable," Miller said. "You have enough to deal with as a 13-year-old girl, much less this type of conduct. I think it's very safe to assume that she has been traumatized by it and will have to deal with it."

Stark was arrested Thursday night and is being held on $50,000 bail. She faces one to 15 years in prison on each of her 18 second-degree felony charges.

Prosecutors warn if anyone finds a flier and redistributes it -- including making copies or posting it online -- it is considered distribution of child pornography under Utah law.

Officials at the government's Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) said under-reporting of incidents involving female abusers was a concern and warned that "copycat" abusers may attempt to replicate the abuse that took place at Plymouth's Little Ted's nursery, where George worked.

Manitowoc Co. woman charged in child porn case

A Manitowoc County woman appeared in court Monday on a dozen charges of child sexploitation and sexual assault.

She allegedly touched the children - ages 2, 5 and 7 - and took pictures of them which she then shared to be sold.

FOX 11 is not identifying the woman because doing so would identify the minor victims.

According to court documents, the woman agreed to send pornographic images of children to a man she knew and he was going to sell them on the internet.

The man who was going to sell them told police he received about 1,000 pictures from the woman during a two month period.

The woman admitted to police she had taken pornographic pictures of her children with her cell phone and sent them to the man.

The woman is not in jail, she posted her $1,000 bond.

She is not to have contact with the man, or any children, unless at work where she is supervised.

The woman is awaiting appointment of a public defender. She is scheduled to appear in court on July 1.

Neither the district attorney nor the Manitowoc Sheriff's department was available for comment today.
