Has abduction developed into some sort of a 'cult'?

Today the police arrested her and her friend. They have recognised that the child died in the house ( accident or to severe trashing) and they buried the body in a wood. She apparently lied because she didn't want to loose the custody of her to other children. The police is trying to locate the body.
Why didn't they call Gordon Brown?
He's on the yellow pages in the 'abduction solvers' section.

Wasn't there a similar case quite close to Maddie going 'missing'.A French young boy reported missing, weeks later it was found a parent had killed him?
2007 or early 2008 I think.

A McCult was born on the 3rd of May 2007, most British, Irish, Scottish and Welsh were BRAIN-WASHED into becoming part of it, because one or two idiots were hood-winked.

The rest, as you say, is history.

Goncalo Amaral is to face Maddie McCanns parents in court

Post  curious george on Wed 2 Dec - 6:46

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2754684/Goncalo-Amaral-is-to-face-Maddie-McCanns-parents-in-court.html

By ANTONELLA LAZZERI

Published: Today
KATE and Gerry McCann are to fly to Portugal to face in court the man who claims they lied about their daughter Maddie's disappearance.
The couple have filed a £1million libel suit against ex-cop Goncalo Amaral, who wrote a book claiming the three-year-old died in an accident at their holiday flat in May 2007.

He alleged the little girl's parents then disposed of her body in Praia da Luz, Portugal.

'Lies' ... Goncalo AmaralThe McCanns, both 41, won a court battle to ban Amaral's bestseller The Truth Of The Lie earlier this year.
Now they are preparing to return to Portugal for the start of the trial in Lisbon's High Court on December 11.
It will be only the second time since Maddie vanished that Kate, of Rothley, Leics, has returned to the country.
A source close to the pair said: "They want to face him. They may have to give evidence against him but they don't know yet."
The McCanns' spokesman Clarence Mitchell added: "It's their court case and they feel they should be there."
Amaral, 49, was the police chief in charge of the investigation into the little girl's abduction.
But he was sacked after several months in the job for publicly criticising the British police.
The book has earned him hundreds of thousands of pounds and he also made a TV documentary based on the work.
He retired from the Portuguese police earlier this year.

Well, that will be interesting, wont it. Them facing Snr Amaral in court. The fact that Antonella, their favoured 'journalist' is spinning this to make it sound as if they're keen to see him in court makes me wonder whether it's really something they want to do, or if they've got to go and are trying to put a positive gloss on things. I'm sure that Portugal is preparing itself (again).

NB interesting that now this is going to court old Antonella has decided to say Snr Amaral was 'sacked' from the case for disagreeing with the British police, rather than incompetence, which she used to say before. Also, note how the report states that he retired, making it clear that he left the police force of his own volition, rather than being kicked out in disgrace. Not worried about libel is she?

Re: Amaral V McCann trial

Post  curious george on Wed 2 Dec - 6:57

I think it is worth reminding people how this trip was spun back in October:
BRAVE Kate McCann will return to Praia da Luz for a first visit since daughter Maddie was abducted, husband Gerry said yesterday.
The couple are planning the trip to the resort - where Maddie, then three, vanished from an apartment in May 2007 - before the end of the year.

Gerry, 41, said: "It is the last place she saw Madeleine and there is an emotional bond. There are people we would like to see and places Kate would like to return to.

"Now things are less intense she would like to do that in private. It is going to be a very emotional experience."

What could be 'less intense' than a court battle with Amaral.

POLICE CHIEF FACES LIBEL TRIAL

Post  Guest on Wed 2 Dec - 11:13

MADELEINE MCCANN: POLICE CHIEF FACES LIBEL TRIAL

Goncalo Amaral will face a libel trial in Madeleine McCann case

Wednesday December 2,2009
By Nick Fagge

KATE and Gerry McCann will come face to face in a courtroom with the Portuguese policeman who accused them of being involved in the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine.

Madeleine McCann's parents will confront discredited former police chief Goncalo Amaral at a libel hearing next week where he will be accused of peddling distressing lies about them.

Mr Amaral was in charge of the botched investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine from the McCanns’ family apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in May 2007.

He was instrumental in naming Kate and Gerry as official suspects in the official investigation into what happened to their daughter.

And he published a book and a TV documentary claiming Madeleine was dead, entitled The Truth Of The Lie.

The McCanns will confront the former detective when he appears in court in Lisbon on December 11 to answer charges that he lied.

Their spokesman Clarence Mitchell said last night: “Kate and Gerry are planning to be at the opening of the trial. They think it is important to be there for the beginning.”

Portugal’s attorney general officially cleared the McCanns as suspects.

I thought the dogs were the instrumental ones. Amaral just just came to the conclusion any rational person would come to.

I'm no lawyer, but if they are suing him for libel, don't they have to prove what he is saying is incorrect?

Well at least this "trial" will give us an insight into whether the Portuguese judicial system is corrupt or not because if the McCanns come out of this with another wad of cash you can bet your life there were some nice backhanders involved courtesy of those ever supportive millionaire friends of the "walk-on-water" McCanns.

I don't want to sound pedantic but I have already stated several times on this site that there is no longer an injunction on the book and the DVD because no court case was filed against the publisher and the producer within the 30 day period stipulated by law. The injunction in force is the one against GA forbidding him from speaking about the case

It is up to the publisher and producer to continue the divulgation of the book and DVD if they wish to do so.

Also, Beattie, the McCanns' lawyer is Isabel Duarte and not Levy.

Just typical British newspaper pro-McCann rubbish and I'm sure we'll see plenty more before this 'trial' is over. Still, it all helps to publicise Mr Amaral's book and that can't be a bad thing. If anyone gets curious about it they can always look it up on the Internet.

Is this extract from the OP wrong then?

The Lisbon Civil Court will begin to judge on the 11th the interlocutory proceedings which opposes the McCann family against the former PJ inspector Gonçalo Amaral. The process still involves a book publisher [Guerra e Paz, Editores, SA], a TV channel [Prisa's TVI] and a media production company [Valentim de Carvalho].

Re: Amaral V McCann trial

Post  T4two on Wed 2 Dec - 13:42

The use of the word trial in this context is misleading. Dr.Amaral does not face trial, it is the accusations of the McCanns that they have sustained injury as a result of publication of the book which are subject to trial in order to ascertain their validity. It is therefore the McCanns' case for damages which is being tried and not Dr. Amaral. Stating that Dr. Amaral is facing trial is a deliberate distortion to imply that he is accused of something and bears the onus of proof of his innocence. Another biased report of the kind one must expect from the British press.
