A picture of Kate holding Cuddle Cat was in a similar: 'Pictures of the Decade' article in the centre of 'The Guardian' today. My husband said, puzzled, 'Why is that picture included? Surely it hasn't got as much significance as the others?' I disagreed, and said that the disappearance of Madeleine would surely count as the biggest unsolved mystery case of the time, and that picture was quite a good reminder of it.

Hello Annabel, Thank you for posting this article. I think the words the Daily Mail used for the small article on Madeleine Mc Cann are quite illuminating. I notice that they use the word disappeared once and missing twice, not one reference to 'abduction' the Mc Canns favouite and only theory. I wonder if the slumbering beast of the 'Newspaper Press' is slowly awakening at last. Perhaps if that is really happening albeit very slowly it is because of the Mc Canns pursuit of Mr Gonco Amaral and the upcoming court case. I live in hope that it may be an awakening that is followed eventually by other UK Newspapers. With all my very best wishes Rose xxx
