Man, Woman Held In 'Sick, Disturbing' Molestation Case
Police: Pair Videotaped Molestation Of 7-Year-Old Girl

INDIANAPOLIS -- A man and a woman were arrested late last week in one of the most depraved child molestation cases Indianapolis police have seen, officers said.

Heather Gibson, 22, of Indianapolis and Justin Lashaway, 47, of Greenfield were arrested on Friday on four felony counts of child molesting, 6News' Jack Rinehart reported.
Lt. Jeff Duhamell said Gibson and Lashaway had sex with a 7-year-old girl, a member of her family, on at least four occasions in encounters that began in January, some of which were videotaped.
The investigation began when the girl confided in someone at her school, authorities said. Child Protective Services was contacted and police were called in to investigate.
"It's thankful that it came out now, because it probably would have gotten worse as far as the sexual acts were concerned, to the point, who knows what would have happened," Duhamell said.
Police think there may have been more encounters, but the charges stem from the four occasions the girl recounted.
Duhamell said sex toys were used during encounters he described as "disturbing and sick."
Police seized a computer in the investigation in hopes of determining whether the video was being viewed privately or was possibly sold or traded over the Internet.
Duhamell said both Gibson and Lashaway gave statements admitting to sexual encounters with the girl.
Police said the incidents happened at Gibson's home, which is in a small mobile home park near Brookville Road on the city's east side.
Neighbors said they never suspected the pair were hiding anything.
"Wow. We have grand children," said Barbara Gray. "He was a good neighborhood. They are good neighbors."
Gibson and Lashaway were being held Wednesday in the Marion County Jail.
