A British teenager, aged 13, died late on Tuesday night in a hotel in Magaluf, Calvià, while he was on holiday with his parents on Mallorca.

The boy’s parents had gone out to dinner with friends and he was alone in the hotel room when he began to feel ill and asked for help from the staff. Emergency services called out to the scene were unable to revive the boy after he went into cardio-respiratory arrest.

Diario de Mallorca reported on Thursday that it’s thought he suffered an asthma attack, and an autopsy is being carried out to determine the cause of death.

The Civil Guard are in charge of the investigation.
