Police in Bristol have arrested four people after secret filming by BBC Panorama found a pattern of serious abuse at a residential hospital.

Disturbing, disgusting, caring UK ! I hope everyone of those nurses and carers get long prison sentences, but somehow I doubt it.

It was on tv a few months ago and some have been sacked and some or all off the residents have been moved to diff places.



Lets face it, if these parents or carers were given enough money to look after their family they wouldn't have to go into these residential homes to be abused, they could be cared for at home if they got the help and finance which they deserve.

I totally agree, kitti. The biggest problem is that funding for residential care comes from a different budget to funding to support parents/carers to keep a child/relative in their own home.

About 10 years ago I was working at a residential school for children with autism. Quite a few of those children would not have been there if funding had been available to support the parents/carers to keep the children at home. Most of the children needed 24/7 care, but parents told me that they would be given half an hour in the morning and half an hour in the evening. Ten years ago, it was costing around £3,000 a week to keep those children at the residential school, but it would have cost a lot less to support the families more. It comes out of a different budget! No can do! Ha!
