Redwood discounted Tanner's Statement weeks ago and said there was no checking between 9pm and 10pm which we thought left more time for an abduction. How come the Mirror has chosen NOW to play catch up.?

Are we to believe that 'call me Stu' Prior didn't pass this information onto the MCcanns ?

I think the Report by Control Risk would have been given to the McCanns Jassi . The McCanns gave it to the PJ who as we can see would not have made much sense of it. All it is is a drawing , so the PJ probably kept it and Redwood siezed on it when he was given access to the files , Leicester were never involved really except to take statements from the Tapas 7 and take calls from anyone who might have information. Now the spotlight has turned on Smith who made a statement to the PJ while in PDL , it was only months later that when Smith saw Gerry walking down the steps of an Aircraft carrying a child resting on his shoulder that Smith remembered seeing the man they passed in PDL . Personally , I don't think Smith's statement has much credibility , it's clutching at straws . To my mind there can only be two possibilities , either Gerry found Madeleine dead and hid her body on the shelf cupboard until he could dispose of it while everyone was searching for her, or she really was abducted between 9 and 10 pm.

I wasn't meaning the report by Risk Control. I was meaning the statement made to LP by the innocent holidaymaker who was recently identified as being Tannerman

Gotcha jassi. Have you noticed that these "persons of interest" have proved to be rubbish, what about the 38 people dotted around Europe that Redwood wants to find ??? It's all bull***t, designed to prove that the Review and Investigation has been worthwhile and not wasted taxpayers money.

At the end off the day....the pj....Leicester police....dave, the Pratt Edgar...met 3 and the mccanns had the efits ....why didn't they publish them?

If she was abducted, was she snatched by the perpetrator but he dropped her in the process and then she sadly died and then he left her in the apartment for quite some time and then he came back to get her? I cannot get my head around why an abductor would do this and yet we know that someone has died in this very apartment.

The dogs definitely indicated that a body had laid there for quite some time for them to be able to pick up the scent of a human corpse (so sad just typing this) As the owners of the apartment both current and perhaps prior owners were contacted, I believe, to ensure that no one had died there before and I also know that all furniture is checked in such cases to ensure that no one has died on the mattress/sofas/chairs floors etc.

One only has to view other sniffer dogs from around the world to see how amazing they really are.

One of the cases that sticks out for me is regarding an American man that seemed to have left his home and his dog which made the neighbours very suspicious. They, I believe contacted the police and eventually sometime later the dogs were brought in.

There was another man living in the missing man’s home and he told people that his ‘friend’ had gone to visit someone. The neighbours were right to worry as the dogs found this poor man’s body under lots of earth, far down in the ground and under meat that the perpetrator had placed to cover his crime. I have just looked but I can't find the video which is one You Tube.

For me the dogs ’indications’ stand out along with certain people’s behaviour which was most odd and unusual indeed.  

So I would agree with your first remark that someone (in my words now) that knew her took her sometime from that apartment to whom knows where.IMO

I think that Gerry would have gotten the body out of the apartment and hid it somewhere rather than leave it in plain sight to possibly be discovered by investigators in the blue bag in the wardrobe. Also, think of the smell that would have developed over several hours until Gerry and Kate went out to "search" alone from 4-6 am. This is a period of time the investigation was particularly interested in the movements of Gerry and Kate.

But his ‘alibi’ was only looked at this year.

A source said: “He had been clear then that he had picked her up at around the time of the sighting but for whatever reason he was not eliminated as a suspect. The fact the details of the prime suspect have been known all along doesn’t look good.”

Following Madeleine’s disappearance, Leicestershire police were responsible for collating all UK-based inquiries at the request of the Portuguese authorities.

It is not clear if the questionnaires were analysed by the British force or simply forwarded to Portugal.

Ms Tanner, a close friend of Kate and Gerry, previously told officers that she saw the dark-haired man carrying away a child wearing pink floral pyjamas at 9.15pm on May 3, 2007.

One of the so-called “Tapas Seven”, she had been dining with the McCanns in a nearby restaurant when their daughter went missing.

Her sighting meant that from 2007 onwards, Portuguese and British police presumed any abduction most probably took place between 8.30pm, when the McCanns went to dinner, and 9.15pm.

They published every sighting or snippet they could find or invent; they knew of Smith sighting yet did not include it in the bewk; now this is the cops' fault? I think we are moving our focus from PJ to the LP and for what reason?

PJ knew this Tanner sighting was BS. And seemingly so did anyone in the investigation. And even to McCanns' own personal investigation; at least to the Smiths. Yet it went secret status. Aside from all the sightings and pedo s and gypsies and nonsense that were highlighted far and near, the one piece of info they did have was not published.

Suppressing the Smith sighting is one thing - if mcCanns and the cops- whom they were of course, in contact with, also knew this tourist was a fake sighting of an abductor, we wonder why not only that Smith sighting was suppressed but the innocent tourist - surely he would have seen the efitrs of himself out there for YEARS and would have said something.

And why NOW? Why so many weeks after the Crime Watch show aired and Exton came forward?

Now this - IMO - demands a statement from that person Jane Tanner saw, as to where he was, and when he was there and which way he was walking.

If he was walking away from 5a to the crèche, then obviously it's not a suspect in this case and no reason he nor any other innocent person should be dragged thru the press mud. There IS a reason why he should or his existence should be published however - to get the focus OFF this guy as a sighting of "the abduction as it was occurring" - really? They have had this for years and insisted on having his efit on their website for 6 years when in fact they have known since that time that this was not the guy.

The fact that TM wished it to be so and wished Gerry had this alibi, doesn't discredit Leicester cops or PJ or anyone else - a person of interest was FOUND and ruled OUT - other than the McCanns, no one was publishing all those ruled out who weren't involved.

This walks and talks and smells like BS from TM.

Why did they and all their investigators not alert us to this? They 've said numerous times how much they were involved with the investigation.
