I'm not an economist, but yes I can see it happening. Those who say we must stay in the EU point out the great amount of business we do with that same EU, and what would happen to all that vast business if we left. It appears from all we read and hear that much of the EU is still either in recession or barely out of it. Surely that means they aren't doing any appreciable business with us, or anyone else. That is the overarching reason they are in recession. So if they aren't doing any business then our own industrial base is adversely affected. The more business we do with them, the more we are affected. Giving out Billion pound contracts to foreign companies doesn't help. Especially foreign companies who have no great background. I would be prepared to bet that when construction starts that Chinese company will bring in mostly it's own workers. (we'll end up paying for that as well) The indigenous might get a few labouring jobs out of it.
