I find it odd that LaToya has made this statement to the British papers....why in the UK and not in her own countrys press? Or have they taken it from the US press maybe?

Just seen a really good documentary on Channel 4 - called "Michael Jackson's last days"

Go here to watch online: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/michael-jackson-what-really-happened

The conclusion is (until the coroners final report is known) that he may have been trying to get clean from his 20-year addiction to painkillers and taken too much of something to come off something else.

Channel 4 did the docu "Maddie was here"......they didnt do their research for that the same as they made their own programme now before the final autopsy...so I wouldnt take them seriously just yet!

I saw the Maddie one - so I know what you mean. But this one seemed quite a bit better and far better researched.

I struggle to find a lot of sympathy for MJ's family, they havent given him any support in the last years. If LaToya knew he was the 'loneliest man in the world' why didnt his brothers and sisters do something about it before.

I dont think you can when someone has an addiction, i think they have to admit they have a problem first. If it had been my brother i would of tried to have him sectioned. I agree with you not having a lot of sympathy for the family it is all down to making money with them.

Cops Treating Jackson's Death 'As Homicide'
8:27pm UK, Wednesday July 15, 2009

Police in Los Angeles are treating Michael Jackson's death as a homicide, according to TMZ, the website that broke the news of the singer's death.

Questions over Jackson's personal doctor Conrad Murray

The pop icon's family have spoken of "unanswered questions" concerning the role of doctor Conrad Murray in the final hours of Jackson's life, the website said.

Dr Murray was Jackson's personal doctor and was to join the star for the duration of his London comeback tour.

He is known to have administered the powerful sedative Diprivan to Jackson and was with him when he passed away.

The 51-year-old cardiologist's lawyers insist he has been cleared of any wrongdoing.

Mike Walters, TMZ News Manager:

TMZ.com said "the evidence points to the anaesthesia Propofol as the primary cause of Jackson's death".

Law enforcement sources told the entertainment website there was already "plenty of powerful evidence" pointing to Dr Murray.

The evidence is said to include items found in Jackson's rented mansion, including Propofol, an intravenous drip stand and an oxygen tank.

The drug is used to induce unconsciousness in hospital patients ahead of surgery and experts say it should only be administered by an anaesthesiologist.

The Los Angeles Police Department has already had "multiple conversations with the county district attorney's office", TMZ said.

The website's report comes a day after the Los Angeles county coroner's office issued a summons for the star's dermatologist Arnold Klein.

Coroners said they were seeking "additional medical records" from the physician's Beverly Hills office.

Investigators have been looking into the possible role of drugs in the death of Jackson, who died on June 25 after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles.

The exact cause of his death is expected at the end of this week or early next week when toxicology reports are released.

What a weird one La Toya is........posing for pics, smiling, ready to be interviewed.

She, if i remember, told off her father doing things with HER underwear!!

I dont know about her, i think she tells half truths.

Was MICHAEL ABUSED BY HIS FATHER....did he ever speak out about his abuse?

Seems the only people shouting about it is....HIS FAMILY.

i DONT think he was murdered, he was prob given one injection too many which caused heart failure.

I suppose this is going to turn out to be ANOTHER conspiracy...i.e. diane..kennedy..monroe.....anna smith.....im glad im not famous lol, just boring old me!

Michael Jackson thread...... - Page 4 Empty Jackson Mum Named As Guardian Of Kids

Post  Susan Mon 3 Aug - 20:27

Breaking News

7:28pm UK, Monday August 03, 2009
A judge in Los Angeles has named Michael Jackson's mother Katherine as the permanent guardian of his three children.

The 79-year-old was also granted a monthly allowance from the late singer's estate.

Mrs Jackson was named by the singer as his first choice to raise his children in a 2002 will.

She is the only person to formally petition for custody of the children since his death on June 25 aged 50.

But what was expected to be a straightforward court hearing took a bizarre turn when an attorney for Jackson's dermatologist Arnold Klein appeared at the hearing asking for his client to "have a voice" in arrangements concerning the children.

Judge Mitchell Beckloff rejected the application but Mr Klein's appearance is likely to stir up rumours about whether or not he is the biological father of Jackson's eldest two children.

Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11, were born to Jackson's ex-wife Debbie Rowe during their three year marriage from 1996-99.

Mrs Jackson and Ms Rowe reached a custody agreement last week.

Ms Rowe will have visitation rights for Prince Michael and Paris but will receive no money beyond the spousal agreement already in place, thought to be worth around $8.5m (£5.05m)

The surrogate mother of Jackson's third child, seven-year-old Prince Michael II, known as 'Blanket', has never been identified.

The children have been living with Mrs Jackson at the family's home in California's San Fernando Valley since their father's death.

Mrs Jackson is also seeking to be named as a co-executor of the singing superstar's estate.

Her lawyers have already filed papers accusing existing executors John Branca and John McClain of placing "cumbersome and unreasonable restrictions" on access to documents relating to his affairs.

But legal analysts believe her efforts to be named a co-executor have little chance of success.

Oliver Star: I'm Father Of Jackson's Daughter

9:45am UK, Sunday August 09, 2009
The actor who starred in the 1968 film Oliver! has sensationally claimed that he is the real father of Michael Jackson's daughter Paris.

Mark Lester, the godfather of Jackson's three children, told a Sunday newspaper that he gave the pop star his sperm.

He told the News of the World he is prepared to have a paternity test to prove his fatherhood.

Mr Lester, 51, said there was a true likeness between 11-year-old Paris and his 15-year-old daughter Harriet.

He told the paper: "It's been a secret for so long."

"In 1996 Michael asked me if I would give him my sperm and I said yes."

Jackson's other long-time friend, Uri Geller, backed Lester over the claim.

The actor who starred in the 1968 film Oliver! has sensationally claimed that he is the real father of Michael Jackson's daughter Paris.

Mark Lester claims to be the father of Paris and says he will take a test

Mark Lester, the godfather of Jackson's three children, told a Sunday newspaper that he gave the pop star his sperm.

He told the News of the World he is prepared to have a paternity test to prove his fatherhood.

Mr Lester, 51, said there was a true likeness between 11-year-old Paris and his 15-year-old daughter Harriet.

He told the paper: "It's been a secret for so long."

"In 1996 Michael asked me if I would give him my sperm and I said yes."

Jackson's other long-time friend, Uri Geller, backed Lester over the claim.

Geller: 'I knew it all along'

Geller told Sky News: "As a close friend of Mark, I respect his own situation to reveal this information at this time.

"I am not surprised, I knew it all along simply because Michael told me."

The former actor, now an osteopath and acupuncture specialist in southern England, received no reward for his sperm donation.

Lester said: "It was a gift to him, no money was paid, it was something I was honoured to do. He wanted children so badly."

"I do feel a definite bonding with Paris and I think there's a definite possibility that she's part of me," Lester added.

"I want to have contact with her, Prince and Blanket regardless of whether any or all of them are mine. I think it's cruel that I've now been excluded from them."

The father of four continued: "Paris is very pale, with blue eyes. All my daughters, apart from my eldest, are fair with blue eyes. So many people have commented on how alike Harriet and Paris look."

Lester told the News of the World that Jackson first revealed his desperation to be a dad to him in January 1996.

Both were aged 37 and Lester already had three children.

"He realised having kids was a natural thing but that he just couldn't do it," Mr Lester said.

"I mentioned the fact there are alternative ways of going about it.

"I think he'd already tried using his own sperm but it hadn't worked for him, so I made an off-the-cuff comment saying, 'Try mine!"'

Jackson eventually agreed and the donation was arranged through a clinic in Harley Street, London, in February 1996.

Eight months later Jackson announced that he had married nurse Debbie Rowe and three months later the couple revealed the birth of their first child, Prince.

Paris was born just over a year later, in April 1998.

Lester said he was speaking out because he feared being cut out of the lives of Jackson's children.

Up until the pop singer's memorial last month, he was in contact with them on a weekly basis, the former child star said.

But since Jackson's mother Katherine had been granted custody of the children, he said all his phone calls and emails had gone unanswered.

"This isn't what Michael would have wanted," Lester told the paper.

I feel I have to come forward, as my only way of saying, 'Please don't shut me out!'"

Paris looks nothing like Mark Lester. In fact I think she has her mothers looks so if her mother is Debbie Rowe and her father is Mark Lester how did she get that dark skin? Just look at his skin compared to hers? She isnt black but she has a tinge of half caste to her and Prince too.

What on earth are these 2 doing this for? Its not for the children because those 3 children have not only lost their father but now you've got friends of the family saying one of them is the father! How sad for them Michael Jackson thread...... - Page 4 389741

Is my ex-husband Mark Lester the father of Jacko's children? No, he's completely nuts

After extraordinary claims by the former child star of Oliver, an explosive riposte from his scornful ex-wife...

Jane Lester sighs heavily when you ask whether her former husband Mark, the child star made famous by Oliver!, could possibly have made a sperm donation to Michael Jackson in 1996 - and thus be the biological father of Michael's eldest children, Prince Michael and Paris Jackson.

Mark Lester said last weekend that he had secretly given the singer his sperm - telling nobody, not even Jane, who was then his wife.

He said he was convinced that he has a 'special affinity' with Paris, who is his god-daughter, and claimed that his own daughter, Harriet, resembled her strongly.

It's certainly a startling story - but can it possibly be true? And what, you wonder, would prompt Lester, now living obscurely as a 51-year-old osteopath in Cheltenham, to tell such a story?

According to Jane, the claims are not even faintly credible. And just three weeks ago, Lester himself was of the same mind.

Speaking to Hello!, he ridiculed stories that Jacko was not the biological father of his children. What an about-turn between that interview and last weekend's.

Jane tells me that the friendship between her ex and Michael Jackson only truly blossomed after Paris's birth. She describes Mark Lester as 'completely nuts' and says she found the association between her ex-husband and Jacko 'frankly creepy'.

Jane, whose parting from Lester was acrimonious, says the friendship with Jackson was one of the factors that destroyed her marriage. She believes this was behaviour largely driven by Lester's ego, as well as his desire to cling to the limelight decades after he returned to obscurity. 'As soon as he got a whiff of Jackson's fame, he went ballistic,' she says.

For, although traces remain in his face of the cherubic little boy who asked for more, it must be said that the story of Mark Lester's life fits the classic child-star trajectory of overwhelming fame, followed by disgrace and rejection.

Born Mark Letzer - his father is Jewish - he was cast in Oliver! when he was only eight, and attended the Oscars aged ten.

He travelled the world, stayed in grand hotels and hung out with the likes of Oliver Reed. 'To me, it seemed perfectly natural for a boy of ten to be treated like royalty,' Lester told an interviewer.

But, as he later said: 'By the time I realised I was a star, I no longer really was one.' The success of Oliver! in 1968 was never repeated.

In the early years his parents had kept him on 25p-a-week pocket money. But when he was 18 he came into his fortune of £180,000, over £1million in today's money.

Lester remembers his 18th well - it was for this birthday that Oliver Reed bought him a rather unusual present. He said: 'On my 18th I was filming The Prince And The Pauper on location in Hungary. A huge party was planned for me, but it was a rather formal affair to be attended by my parents.

'Oliver Reed, who I had known since appearing with him in Oliver!, was determined to liven things up a bit for me. So he arrived with a surprise birthday present for me - a young Hungarian prostitute.

'I shall never forget the look of horror on my father's face, as he looked at this girl and realised what was going on. The poor girl herself took one look at the famous guests and fled in horror.'

Lester's life became even more tawdry. Shockingly, he blew all of his money in just a couple of years in a display of out-of-control spending not unlike those favoured by his friend Michael Jackson.

He bought a Ferrari and a house in London's Belgravia. There were wild four-day parties for all his friends - he estimates he had around 30 hangers-on - and he would provide all the booze and drugs anyone desired.

Lester thinks he spent around £20,000 on cocaine, but once told an interviewer casually it may have been more - he was too off his head to keep track.

'I tried everything that was going - drink, dope, acid, whatever was on offer,' he boasted.

'Coke was selling at £60 a gram and I was buying it for myself and my house guests at the rate of four grams a day. I abused it mercilessly.'

By the time he was 20, his fortune was gone and he had a 'ghastly' operation on his sinuses to save his nose after his drug abuse.

You might think the experience of losing a fortune and of being washed up after early fame would have caused Lester to grow up.

But, it seems, Lester - arguably like his friend Jacko - never really matured. 'I've had a ball,' he said when the money was gone. 'Given the opportunity I'd probably do it all over again.'

Lester says he had his first contact with Jackson in 1981. Jacko was touring the UK and his agent rang Lester and said Oliver! was Jacko's favourite film. Could they meet for a coffee at the singer's hotel?

There was a bond between the odd pair - both felt they had been warped by their experience of child stardom. Then there was the mutual love of spending and the seemingly arrested emotional development.
