Re: MRI Scans..........
fred, this was my second attempt.I could not go through with the first one, they put me in the machine and my bottle went big time and i had to get out.Now i am a big strong six foot something bloke and never been frightened of anything, but all of the sudden i got claustraphobic !
So a gave it a couple of weeks and they rearranged another one (you only get two chances and then they give up on you),i was 'cacking' myself but thought i better give it another try,got to my appointment time and stood outside the radiology room for about 15 minutes trying to get the courage to go in,got very close to turning around and going home, but just about got myself in there somehow.
Have been practising meditation and breathing techniques and once i'd got through the door and fought off the demons i found it no problem at all.
Still waiting the results though.
Hope yours worked out ok.

Re: MRI Scans..........
I had to have one of those once. I accepted the earphones but not the blindfold as that would have made me feel even more claustrophobic.
Re: MRI Scans..........
I didnt like the earphones first time so this time just had ear plugs for the noise, kept my eyes shut most of the time once i'd got in the machine, opperator was very good and kept talking through the speaker system, lasted about 20 mins i suppose and i feel much happier now its done.

You can always ask for a second opinion. I know I would if it was me.

Its not the size that matters. Its what you can do with it.
At least that's what they keep telling me.
The doctors of course ....
Ermm doctors don't lie do they?

You obviously went in the huge full body scanner, I assumed I would too, but when I got there, it was like a hoola-hoop, you just had to lay on a small bench type thing, which held my head totally still, so it squeezed a bit, and then the hoop passed round my head, lasted a few seconds only. I had just got worked up about it before.
Thanks my results were fine. xx Hope yours are too.

Re: MRI Scans..........
I had an MRI last February when I was diagnosed with Cancer.
I was terrified beforehand, because I am quite claustrophobic. But I used the eye mask and headphones, and thought about England!!!! Was over before I knew it.
Got worked up over nothing.
Hope everything is all ok Lioned. Good luck with the results. xx
