Woman Arrested for Leaving Three Children Home Alone

The children were aged 8 months and two and four years

A 23 year old woman has been arrested in Bilbao for leaving her children home alone. The 8 month baby was found by Ertzaintza regional police on the floor, while the two and four year olds were found crying left on the balcony.
The children are now in the care of the social services. The father has also been arrested and was found to be object of a search and capture order.
The alarm was raised by a neighbour who told the police that two children had been left along on the balcony. Police had to break into the flat as they were unable to get in contact with the mother.
The mother has been charged with child abandonment.
