And check out gerry's eyes at 3.00-3.05. Where he is talking about how they felt being criticised when they were doing all they could to 'get their daughter back'. All lies and it shows.

I think the early interviews are by far the most telling. They are seasoned professionals now. They have rolled out the same answers time and time again now.

I agree, Sunflower27. In those early interviews they sat in parallel, like a pair of stiffs, never looking at each other. They looked like they were trying not to let anything at all show on their faces, but the expression, the eye movement by Kate, at around 0.50 is very telling indeed.

Notice also how they say they can't even think of leaving PDL and yet, how long after were they getting the hell out of there?

As soon as they were told they had to answer questions... suddenly being close to where madeleine was 'abducted' was no longer a priority.

I don't believe the three kids were left in the room alone. I think Maddie was on her own and the twins were with the other childrfen. The door wasn't left unlocked either.

It's that blatant lie that freaks Kate out, imo.

I don't see it myself, only her complete inability to answer the question because she knows it was wrong to leave those kids alone.

Also, note Kate said before 0.50 secs she noticed Maddie gone on 'one of my checks' - how many checks did she make that evening?

I agree with Margaret that Kate was surprised that the reporter had the audacity to ask such a searching question.

It's interesting that McCann claims the chances of a child being abducted in such circumstances is about 100 million to one and yet, whenever they want to push the abduction theory, they say how surprised they are by the frequency of abductions. So, when they want to excuse their neglect of 3 young children, abduction is so rare as not to have even been considered by them and, when they want to convince Madeleine was 'taken', abductions are suddenly relatively commonplace...

Also this is where the infamous overdraft comparison occurs. It is extremely odd and also shows his preoccupation with money and debt. Telling imo.

Gerry is so pathetic. See the way he says that he has got suppoert from sooooo many people saying they would have thought it safe to leave their kids in such a safe environment as well. At that point, everyone was horrified those little children were left alone. Just his way of making out everyone would have done what they did and it could have happened to anyone. Errrr, no.

I have just watched this again - this is the one where Gerry refers to how it was like "being overdrawn on their Student Bank Accounts" huh! If you watch it right to the end it stops and both Gerry and Kate are staring up to their right at someone - just wonder who this might be.
