THE mother of missing Madeleine McCann said yesterday she still wished she could “stop time”. Kate McCann, who marked the fourth anniversary of Maddy’s disappearance in May, said she and husband Gerry would not give up on finding their little girl.

In a poignant message on the Maddy search website, she wrote: “My grandparents always said the years pass more quickly the older you get. It certainly feels that way. I still dream of being able to stop time. “Our only alternative however is to continue doing as much as we can to the best of our ability to enhance the search for Madeleine. So that is what we’ll do.” She added: “It is a big relief that our Government finally agreed to a review. It will be lengthy and difficult but definitely a major step.”

Maddy was nearly four when she vanished from her family’s holiday flat in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2007.

Didn't realise that she had started searching, she sure as Hell didn't bother May 3rd cos it was dark.

That Fred is one of the surest signs to me that the McCanns knew exactly what had happened to their daughter and couldn't be bothered even to go through the pretence of looking for her. I'm sure that every parent has had that odd moment of terror when a child is nowhere to be seen. On one occasion my son went missing in a shop and the staff were searching the back rooms while I was running up and down outside like a headless chicken.

In her book (I prefer to call it a fantasy novel) Kate does claim to have spent an hour (!) the next day looking for Madeleine but only because she claims that the police weren't doing anything. You couldn't make it up, could you? Oh wait, Kate already has!

We WON'T give up on finding her either...don't forget that MCCANNS....

Another edict from Clarence to be submitted to the Press, which only the Mirror printed., to remind us of the McCanns and the heartache
they feel, must be because the Book Promotion is over. It really is pathetic and shame on the Press for printing this garbage.

i thought that the "sun" was the newspaper of choice,
they seemed to be printing every detail of clarences drivel..
i've been offline for a while now,
but not seen anything on the front pages of any newspaper,
i still refuse to buy the gutter press so maybe i missed something.

Maybe the McCanns are out of favour with the Sun because they are claiming damages with several others which has put Rupert and James
Murdoch in the Dock at Newscorp which is having to pay all these claims.

Yes, it is a a serious offence to "lie" to the Committee, read the Armageddon thread on World News, all the Murdochs are facing revolt from shareholders because of the disrepute over the phone hacking and all the claims Newscorp has to pay, it"s very interesting.

I mentioned this quite recently on MM, a long time ago Matthew Parris of The Spectator said the Reporters in PDL were not allowed to interview
the McCanns and instead had a daily brief from Justine their PR at the time. He said if ever the McCanns were found guilty of anything the
Press would be merciless... do you speak Portugese, I was going to suggest we go there to be the first to raise a cheer along with the
longsuffering Portugese Police and Population when Amaral wins the case.

That was my very first thought too - oh? have they started looking then?

Exactly Iris. How can you "keep searching" when you never really started.

There are so many stones left unturned by the McCanns it will probably cause a landslide someday.
