Lindy Chamberlain, mother of the 9 week old baby who disappeared 20 years ago when the parents were camping at Ayers Rock is to appear at the High
Court in Darwin . This case drew worldwide interest and many believed the Mother guilty and she was jailed at a Trial. Four years later new evidence was found and Mrs chamberlain was released. The Couple split up some ttime ago and now Mrs Chamberlain wants the Court to conclude officially that the
baby was taken by a dingo and says she has evidence of similar cases.

People seem to compare this case with the mccanns.......they shouldn't.

The coroner in the inquest will come to the conclusion with the evidence that she has got in front off her.

The same if there ever is an inquest in the mccanns case, the difference is, in the chamberlain case, they didn't have the cadaver dogs findings to bring up when coming to the conclusion.

Morning Kitti,

I remember they found the blood stained matinee jacket in a remote area which was identified as the Chamberlains' baby's and this evidence was enough to obtain Mrs Chamberlains release from Prison . Apparently she has evidence of other cases where Dingos have attacked humans and wants to bury
once and for all any suspicion that she or her ex husband were involved in their daughters' disappearance.

Dingo Baby Death' Case Re-Opens In Australia

12:10pm UK, Friday February 24, 2012

Jonathan Samuels, Australia correspondent

A fourth inquest has opened into the mysterious death more
than 30 years ago of Australian baby Azaria Chamberlain, whose parents
maintain was carried off and killed by a dingo.

The court has been told that the wild dog is likely to have taken the
nine-week-old child from a tent near Uluru, or Ayres Rock, in the
outback in 1980.

The infamous case gripped Australia and the world and could now be closer to a conclusion.

It has been the subject of three previous inquests and a trial which saw Azaria's mother Lindy Chamberlain jailed.

But evidence to the fourth inquest suggests that attacks by dingoes on humans are frequent and sometimes fatal.

Now remarried, Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton and her first husband,
Michael Chamberlain, want the record to formally state it was a dingo
which took their child.

"It gives me hope that this time, Australians will finally be warned
and realise that dingoes are a dangerous animal," she told journalists
outside the court.

"And I also hope that this will give a final finding which closes the
inquest into my daughter's death which so far has been standing open
and unfinished."

Azaria disappeared in August 1980. Her body was never found.

Her mother insisted a dingo had snatched the infant but her version of events was widely doubted by the Australian public.

Chamberlain was eventually convicted of murder by a jury who believed
she killed the child in her car and then disposed of the body.

She spent three years in jail, during which time she gave birth to another daughter.

She was later acquitted by a Royal Commission and a third inquest, in 1995, left an open finding on the death.

Azaria's parents sat through the first day's hearing which they hope
will see Azaria's death certificate changed to say she was killed by a
dingo.

Michael Chamberlain told the court in an emotional address that people needed to be aware of the dangers of the dingoes.

"Since the loss of Azaria I have had an abiding fear and paranoia about safety around dingoes," he said.

"They send a shudder up my spine. It is a hell I have to endure."

The court in Darwin, northern Australia, was told that authorities
regarded dingoes as responsible for many attacks in the years since
Azaria's disappearance.

The coroner was told there were 239 attacks causing injury to people between 1990 and 2011, with three deaths.

Journalist Sandy Aloisi has covered the case for many years.

She told Sky News: "I think a lot of Australians now think there was a miscarriage of justice.

"Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton's demeanour at the time of the first
inquest played heavily with public opinion against her, she was very
calm, stoic, and I think a lot of people just wondered why she just
didn't break down and cry.

"Sadly, to convict a person just on their demeanour seems a great
miscarriage of justice but I think that went a long way to having a
large amount of public opinion against her."

Coroner Elizabeth Morris will hand down her findings at a later date.

Thats right and the mother wasn't down the pub with her mates, and she didnt set up a multi million pound scam collecting money nor invent a keystones cop 'timeline' of checks.
Its daft comparing this with the mccanns.

I agree Lioned. There are some minor similarities I feel in the way that both sets of parents reacted in the early days but for the most part there are many differences. I feel the same way about the JonBenet Ramsay case - the differences outweigh the similarities.

I wonder if people will still be discussing the McCann case in 2039 - 32 years after the event - as they are with baby Azaria.

I hope the Court rules that the baby died after being attacked by a Dingo so that Lindy can finally know Peace which she obviously has not been able to do and must feel bitter about spending 4 years in jail and the breakup of her marriage.

No I don't think Madeleine's disappearance will be remembered that long, although the mystery of JoBenet is well remembered after all these Years. I just
wish that after all this time justice for Madeleine will be seen to be done .

The mccann case i am sure will be remembered in perpetuity panda. It is by far the biggest case ever, the internet and cyberspace is awash with theorys about Maddie and that will never be expunged.

I do not wish to make judgements in regards to the 'dingo baby' case as i havn't really studied it enough but i really think we must exersize caution when quoting all these cases in the same context as the mccanns as if they are all similiar. They are not,far from it actually.

To understand how two parents and possibly a number of their friends can kill a child (either by accident or purpose) then conceal the body all under the eyes of the watching World and Police, then invent some cover story, then set up a multi million £ scam, and then continue the lies for years after, you just have to think 'outside the box'.That behaviour is almost impossible to understand under normal terms.

Human beings are capable of the most monstrous things and then carrying on as if everything is normal, you have to believe that if you believe the mccanns are guilty of the crimes we believe them to be.
Animals are no different in that sense.I would not trust my most trusted dog to be alone in the same room as my child,at least not for more than a few moments if at all.

I can tell you this as i have seen the results of a mans 'best friend' having eaten chunks out of his masters dead body !

Lioned, I'm scared of dogs ever since I gort bitten by a stray while playing in the street as a kid.

I know the internet has several forums, pro and anti, but Joe Public is not as interested, my friends can't understand why I am after all this time and I
cartainly don't think Joe Public would buy a paper just to read the latest headline about yet another sighting. It was quite interesting to note that not
all the Press took up the ridiculous M & S sighting and shows how stupid CM and the McCanns are to think anyone would find this sighting believable.

Unless Madeleine,s body is found there is no way the McCanns can be found guilty of Murder and the PJ could have charged them with neglect causing harm which carries a 10 year sentence but chose not to, God knows why.

I can tell you this as i have seen the results of a mans 'best friend' having eaten chunks out of his masters dead body !
