Ben Needham Info?

@mwilliamsthomas: Mother of Ben Needham has been contacted by a man offering info -but wanting assurances the original reward of £500,000 was still available

If someone is interested first and foremost in the reward rather than helping to find Ben, that would ring alarm bells with me.

The mother of Ben Needham, the British toddler who disappeared in Greece more than 20 years ago, says a man is demanding £500,000 to reveal what happened to her son.

Ben was 21 months old when he vanished from the island of Kos on July 24 1991, close to an old farmhouse which was being renovated by his grandparents.
His mother Kerry Grist, from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, said yesterday that private investigators in Greece had contacted her through her Facebook page to say a man was offering information but wanted assurances that the original reward of £500,000 was still available.
“We then emailed the detective agency saying unfortunately the reward was no longer on offer and the benefactor who offered the reward had lost contact,” she said.
“When the man was informed of this he said without any money there would be no information.”
Mrs Grist added: "Why is somebody being allowed to blackmail a family like us? We just want to know where Ben is. It felt like he was making me put a price on my son's life.”

That man should be identified and arrested. If he is holding information about a missing child, then he should be obliged to pass it on. If he is a fraud, he should be charged.

Very odd story to say its so well known, but then again I dont believe anything I read in the newpapers now, Im 99% sure the paper will have made more of this story then it really is. imo if true, he sounds like an idiot trying to make a quick Euro.

I'm surprised the mccanns havent latched onto this by saying THAT'S why they have not mentioned the reward due to mutters.

Didn't they say something like people of principle or honest people would know there was a reward? And then there's the very helpful Auntie Phil, who reckoned it would only take one "unscrupulous..." to grass up the abductor and Madeleine would be found.

Quite Badboy, the Police followed a red herring to the exclusion of all other leads and it was just some random nutter after his 15 minutes of fame. There was time, energy and money wasted and in the meantime, Sutcliffe was running around loose to kill again. Wearside Jack has the deaths of these unfortunate women on his hands also.

THEY CAUGHT WEARSIDE JACK SOME YEARS AGO AND SENTENCED HIM TO PRISON,I THINK.

I saw a programme once and a policeman suspected Peter Sutcliffe but was told it couldn't be him because he had the wrong accent. That is he didn't sound like Wearside Jack. So that goes to show no avenue should be left unexplored.

So that goes......how bl**dy thick the Police really are.
