Afonso Freire Novais dos Santos Tiago, de 27 anos, estava a fazer um estágio de seis meses na delegação de Berlim da Active Space Technologies, firma portuguesa de projectos espaciais, e é considerado por colegas e amigos uma pessoa com grande sentido de responsabilidades.

Uma amiga de infância de Afonso Tiago, o investigador português desaparecido no passado dia 10 em Berlim, resolveu criar um blogue para tentar receber informações sobre o paradeiro do jovem

Tiago Afonso desapareceu no passado dia 10A ideia de criar o blogue «Find Afonso Tiago» partiu de Linda Barreiro, amiga de infância de Afonso Tiago, um jovem investigador português que se encontrava em Berlim ao abrigo do programa de estágios Inov Contacto.

Afonso Tiago desapareceu no passado Sábado, dia 10, na mesma cidade, tendo sido visto pela última vez por volta das quatro horas da manhã, quando se dirigia para casa após uma saída com amigos.

Ao SOL a responsável pelo site revelou que «o blogue foi criado para chegar ao maior número de pessoas possível o desaparecimento do Afonso, para massificar, para sermos cada vez mais a passar a mensagem e para, todos juntos, fazermos uma corrente de energia positiva para encontrar o nosso amigo».

Linda Barreiro adianta contudo que «até agora ainda não temos notícias sobre o paradeiro do Afonso no terreno mas no ciberespaço as respostas têm sido muitas e a disponibilidade para ajudar também. Há muita gente conhecida e desconhecida sensibilizada e solidária com esta causa».


Este é o percurso que Afonso Tiago deveria ter feito entre o último local onde foi visto e a sua casaEsta ajuda tem surgido em diversos formatos, desde autores de blogues «que colocaram a mensagem no seu blog e que difundiram pelos seus contactos» até ao «site The Star Tracker», uma comunidade virtual de portugueses residentes no estrangeiro.

Linda Barreiro espera que esta ajuda possa ser útil para encontrar o seu amigo, pois «de outra forma não teria criado o blogue».

A informação foi dada à Lusa pela secretária-geral da Rede Judiciária Europeia, que adiantou que a família do jovem já recebeu a notícia e que «ainda se desconhecem as causas» e «se se tratou de um acidente ou de um crime».

«O corpo do Afonso vai ser autopsiado em Berlim para se chegar a conclusões sobre o que aconteceu», disse a procuradora Adélia Martins.

A responsável da RJE adiantou que o rio «foi uma das primeiras hipóteses colocadas pela polícia alemã» encarregue do caso, que «trabalhou em estreita colaboração com a Polícia Judiciária portuguesa».

Adélia Martins explicou ainda que, há cerca de duas semanas, contactou «informalmente, mas oficialmente» um procurador de Berlim, tendo sido decidido instaurar um «processo-crime apenas para permitir uma estratégia de investigação mais abrangente» e não «porque houvesse uma forte desconfiança da existência de um crime».

A procuradora garantiu ainda que «a polícia alemã não negligenciou o caso».

Afonso Tiago, que tinha 27 anos, tinha-se formado recentemente em Engenharia Mecânica em Lisboa.

Natural de Oliveira de Azeméis, estava na capital alemã há seis meses como investigador na Active Space Technologies, quando saiu com um grupo de amigos dos quais se separou já na madrugada de dia 10 dizendo que ia para casa, onde nunca chegou, e não voltou a ser visto desde então.

Poucos dias antes de desaparecer, propuseram-lhe um contrato fixo na mesma firma, que estava muito satisfeita com o seu trabalho, e estava disposto a continuar a viver na capital alemã.

O seu desaparecimento deu origem a uma onda de solidariedade e amigos e familiares, alguns residentes em Portugal, nomeadamente na sua terra natal, Oliveira de Azeméis, espalharam pela cidade cartazes com a sua foto.

O próprio Presidente da República fez recentemente referência ao caso, durante a sua visita à Alemanha, dizendo que as autoridades alemãs incluíam o caso do desaparecimento de Afonso Tiago na categoria de casos que designam como «bruxedo», ou seja, algo «que não conseguem explicar».

«Consideram o caso muito anormal. Fiquei a saber que o incluem numa categoria de casos a que atribuem a designação de 'bruxedo', isto é, qualquer coisa que não conseguem explicar», afirmou o chefe de Estado, Aníbal Cavaco Silva, durante um encontro com os jornalistas em Berlim, realizado no âmbito da visita de Estado que está a realizar à Alemanha até sexta-feira.
