Do we know whether Smith has definitely stressed this, or is the statement tinged with pink?

Smith said Robert Murat was definitely not the man he saw!  I'll bet money he didn't say Gerry McCann! You're right this has pinky's grimy paws all over it.

Correct. Martin Smith said he knows Robert Murat and it definitely was not him.

Agreed, definitely pink spin. Originally Martin Smith was 60-80% sure that the man he saw carrying a child was Gerry McCann. So, in other words, he is not 100% sure that the man that he saw was Gerry McCann, however, he is also not 100% sure that it was not Gerry McCann. It was Robert Murat that he was 100% sure was not the man.
