Is this true?
Keep seeing this today 'Smith has since stressed that he does not believe the man he saw was Gerry, and Scotland Yard do not consider this a possibility. Last week the McCanns were told officially by the Portuguese authorities that they are not suspects'
Do we know whether Smith has definitely stressed this, or is the statement tinged with pink?

Re: Is this true?
Smith said Robert Murat was definitely not the man he saw! I'll bet money he didn't say Gerry McCann! You're right this has pinky's grimy paws all over it.Roasted Arizona wrote:Keep seeing this today 'Smith has since stressed that he does not believe the man he saw was Gerry, and Scotland Yard do not consider this a possibility. Re: Is this true?
Correct. Martin Smith said he knows Robert Murat and it definitely was not him.

Re: Is this true?
Agreed, definitely pink spin. Originally Martin Smith was 60-80% sure that the man he saw carrying a child was Gerry McCann. So, in other words, he is not 100% sure that the man that he saw was Gerry McCann, however, he is also not 100% sure that it was not Gerry McCann. It was Robert Murat that he was 100% sure was not the man.
