Yes, we're at that recognisable stage of one of those never-ending post-Christmas-lunch games of Monopoly with the children. One of the players has obviously won, owns all the property and has nearly all the circulating cash. (These would be the richest 1% of the Western economy). It's time to call it a day and wrap up the game, but the youngest kids start to cry; they want to play on.

This is when daddy opens the box of Monopoly money and dishes out the lot. There! Now they can keep paying the rents for another half hour. Doesn't help them win the game, of course. And the richest player 's pile of money gets bigger and bigger.

Maybe the idea of owning your own Home needs a re-think because Property prices are so unstable and no ones job is safe these days. I do think the Government could help by stopping all the Oligarks and Investors buying properties as Investments . It skews the whole Property Market .
