"Kate McCann launches new campaign to get one million people signed up to missing children's alert scheme". Sorry, I can do links but the article is in today's Herald Scotland.

This on the same day the Times mention the "murder" of Madeleine in Portugal.

Why the old picture of Kate and her mother rather than her and Coral Jones?

If Kate really has latched on to another genuine victim, shame on her.

The system which has now been introduced in the UK is the French Alerte Enlèvement. There are 4 criteria for the triggering of an alert and Madeleine's disappearance would have met only one of them and an alert would not have been triggered.

1) It must be a confirmed abduction and not just a disappearance, however worrying.

2) The victim's life or physical safety must be at risk.

3) The Public Prosecutor must be in possession of sufficient information which, if broadcast, would help to locate the child or the suspect.

4) The victim must be a minor.

I was wondering about that too.
According to the text, KM and Mrs Jones unveiled this new billboard.
So the most appropriate picture would have been of the pair of them doing just that.
Instead we get KM and Ma Healy in what looks like a Lisbon courthouse car park pic.
Where is Mrs Jones? Where is the billboard?
I cannot believe that there wasn't a snapper there to take a picture of them together ...

At least this article puts more of an emphasis on Coral Jones, April's mother. Odd though there has not been a picture of the billboard at King's Cross. Mitchell, the media manipulator, must be busy with his election campaign.

Coral Jones, the mother of murdered April, joins forces with Kate McCann to launch campaign informing the public about missing children

The mother of murdered schoolgirl April Jones has joined Kate McCann to launch a new campaign aimed at signing up at least a million people to a missing children's alert scheme.

Coral Jones and Mrs McCann, mother of missing Madeleine, unveiled a digital billboard at King's Cross station in London promoting an enhanced Child Rescue Alerts system to inform the public about missing children whose lives are considered at risk.

The scheme will use social media including text messages, email and digital billboards across the UK in addition to traditional broadcast media to issue the alerts when it is launched on Sunday, International Missing Children's Day.

The scheme, the responsibility of the National Crime Agency (NCA) in partnership with the charity Missing People and the company Groupcall Limited, already has 25,000 people signed up.

Organisers say the scheme will be able to issue localised and national alerts and has a target of a million to sign up by the end of its first year.

Charlie Hedges, manager for Missing and Abducted Children at Ceop, part of the NCA, said: "It enables us to disseminate messages either at a very localised level or nationally quickly and effectively whenever there is a particularly highly endangered child we are trying to locate.

"We are encouraging the public to sign up to the scheme so they can receive alerts, hopefully on rare occasions when we use the scheme."

Mrs Jones, 42, urged people to sign up in an attempt to help other families of missing children.

"The search for my beautiful April ended in tragedy and that is why I want to do everything I can to make sure that the next time a child is taken or in danger we can bring them home safely," she said.

Mrs McCann also urged people to sign up to the alerts.

"When a child is abducted, families are devastated and entire communities are torn apart. The agony of not knowing where your child is, is almost impossible to imagine. The helplessness is at times overwhelming. But there is now something we can all do to help."

Mark Bridger, 47, was found guilty of five-year-old April's abduction and murder last year. He snatched the little girl from outside her home on an estate in Machynlleth, Mid Wales, while she was out playing in October 2012.

The paedophile former lifeguard was given a full life sentence when he was jailed at Mold Crown Court in North Wales last year.

Madeleine McCann, then nearly four years old, disappeared from her family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in Portugal's Algarve on May 3, 2007 as her parents dined at a tapas restaurant with friends nearby.

With thanks to mccannfiles

There is a photo of the two of them if someone would like to oblige. LOL

Hannah Bedford I find it difficult to feel sorry for the mcanns as they went out quite far away from their children and left them in a room in a foreign country ... As a mother I would never leave my child to go out for meals/drinks!! As previously stated coral had to deal with a completely different set of circumstances, every mothers worst nightmare a child getting taken and murdered by a pedophile! This women sat in a court room and had to endure months of heartache, listening to what happened to her child through no fault of her own!! Full respect to the women she deserves the sympathy

Beryl Spilsbury l agree Wendy. Never once have they admitted it was their fault. Their arrogance astounds me. What astounds me equally is the fact Kate is ambassador for missing children!

Beryl Spilsbury Such a worthwhile organization as Missing People is, could lose a lot of support by making Kate McCann an ambassador.

Claire Fryer Agreed Linda Kent!! It's the Mccanns fault that their daughter is missing... most think they had something to do with it and until proven otherwise they r still suspects and should nt be allowed to represent the other families!!
24 · 11 hours ago

Nici Lou Jones Being dignified would not stay in the public eye when they know they're being criticised because they were unable to care for their child. Yes it's sad that Madeline was taken from her siblings and extended family but it wasn't from her parents it was from an empty appartment in a place she didn't know were she wasn't looked after properly. The best thing Kate McCann could do is stay out of the public eye and stop trying to make herself look good and craving attention when she could have stopped this before it happened by just being there for her daughter as a mother should. May sound nasty but if they find Maddie I hope they give her new parents that dont leave her in a position that she can be kidnapped and they should really have questioned whether it was safe to leave the other children in their care! To make it worse they lied to police because they knew they did wrong and the few days the police were concentrating on their lies they could have been the key into finding Maddie. Like I said earlier if it was another mother and father that weren't middle class the children would have been taken away.

Kim Foley Joined forces? Kate McCan left 3 young children under the age of 5 alone at night in a foreign country so she could go out with hubby and have a meal/drink. They are disgusting! Why haven't they been investigated by social services for neglect? If I left my kids to go out down the shop and people found out I'd have no end of shit. What they did is not right and I believe they played a part in little maddies disappearance. They are a joke!

Nici Lou Jones These two cases are majorly different. April was abducted by someone she knew and trusted and the family thought they knew and could trust. She wasn't abducted by a complete stranger she was close to home with friends somwhere she knew her way round and had played loads of times before and had gone home safely loads of times before. There was a 14 minute delay between when April was last seen and the phonecall to the police being done to say she had been kidnapped. I live close to were April lived and within 2 hours of that phonecall being made there were pictures circulated of April within a 100 miles through social media sites. Within that time aswell people travelled to search for her with the friends/family and police. April's mum didn't hinder the investigation by lying to the police or wasting crucial time. Maddie was left unattended sleeping in a foreign country were she did not know anyone and didn't know her way round. There was over an hour and a half between the last time when Maddie was seen and the phonecall to the police being made. Like I said in this time April was all over the news and social media as being missing and people were searching for her. Maddies parents lied about facts that could have helped just to cover their own arses. You really can't compare the two women.

Claire Anderson Both needless deaths, my daughters nearly five and not allowed out to play alone. At such young ages they should be with parents at all times.not left alone or let out alone with other kids at such young ages. You don't know who's about. 2 tragic needless deaths

Enid's Selling Page Does anyone remember the parents hiring a car after Madeleline went missing & the police found hair belonging to Madeleline in the boot & the money people donated to go towards looking for that lil girl went to pay for the McCanns mortgage.

•Laura Sian North I feel deeply for carol but I'm sorry I don't for McCanns they were asking for trouble neglecting the children in room on their own in foreign country. I'm not at all heartless but big difference between the two carol didn't neglect

Lisa White With any justice Mrs McCann is enjoying the last of the limelight!! Never once did Mrs Jones try to hinder the investigation Into her daughter, but then she had nothing to hide !!! Sympathy? The McCanns make my skin crawl !!
37 · 11 hours ago

Zowie Vaughan What about Ben needhams mum ?? Her boy was snatched from her parents garden while she worked , she doesn't get all the funding the mcanns do for the search of her little boy

Linda Kent Coral, wish you had teamed up with Help Find Ben Needham
35 · 11 hours ago

Natalie Jones I feel sorry for carol as some sicko took her child, Kate mccann however is a different story
31 · 12 hours ago

Debra Rush My lordy the Mccanns will stop at nothing, getting into the Media when it suits them...only last week they slammed the Media for interfering...these 2 are makin a mockery and joke out of the system,,,to climb on Coral Jones is below the lowest.....Kate you vile mother tell us the truth!! its only time and your lies will surface to the world
30 · 11 hours ago

Zowie Vaughan All my sympathy for Coral but none for the mcanns they lucky they got any children left
30 · 12 hours ago

Dianne Lloyd Well said Zowie..Ben Needhams mum dosen,t seem to get any recognition at all ..no money, no interest.
29 · 12 hours ago

Hannah Bedford I find it difficult to feel sorry for the mcanns as they went out quite far away from their children and left them in a room in a foreign country ... As a mother I would never leave my child to go out for meals/drinks!! As previously stated coral had to deal with a completely different set of circumstances, every mothers worst nightmare a child getting taken and murdered by a pedophile! This women sat in a court room and had to endure months of heartache, listening to what happened to her child through no fault of her own!! Full respect to the women she deserves the sympathy
27 · 12 hours ago

Wendy Jenkins McCanns shouldn't have left 3 under. 5s night after night but it's everyone else's fault apart from there's ! I do not believe a word they have said and the police files are all in the net to read. ... The public are turning
There is no comparison here my heart goes out to coral but not Kate
26 · 11 hours ago

Beryl Spilsbury l agree Wendy. Never once have they admitted it was their fault. Their arrogance astounds me. What astounds me equally is the fact Kate is ambassador for missing children!
25 · 11 hours ago

Beryl Spilsbury Such a worthwhile organization as Missing People is, could lose a lot of support by making Kate McCann an ambassador.
25 · 11 hours ago

Laura Sian North No I'm sorry but How can u feel for a couple who chose to b selfish and go out and leave their kids in room alone etc so no I don't because it's their fault as much as it the people who took innocent maddie!!!!!. They jus seem to have no emotion at the loss of their child. It's neglect no ways about it.

•Kate and Gerry McCann told the world that Maddie was abducted from her bed on 3r..

Jade-Louise Tough Mcscams will get none of my sympathy. I sympathise with maddie and the situation her family put her in when they were meant to be her family who she trusted and loved. And my heart goes go out to April Jones' mother- very much so

39 · 12 hours ago

Emma Mitchell I find it offensive to see a picture of Aprils mum alongside that woman.
17 · 9 hours ago

Lorraine Evans OMG for God's Sake Even if you don't agree with what the Mcanns did or the other families they were with there, Surely to God you must still feel for the Couple ...... We have all done things that we later regret, thankfully it has never resulted in the disappearance of our children..

Dot Hegarty The McCanns just make my blood boil
6 · 11 hours ago

Lisa Banks Have you ever left your child/children on their own, night after night whilst you go out socialising because I damn well know that I haven't, I haven't put my children's or grandchildren's lives at stake, there's a huge difference in 'doing something you later regret' and being negligent with your child/children.

Hannah Bedford Coral you get my full respect your such a strong women after all the terrible heartache you have been through ... Bless you and your family xxx

Good to see that all but one of the posters, are against the McCanns.  Kate McCann launches new campaign - Herald Scotland (May 20, 2014) 816281  at the one who feels for the McCanns. Once again a McCann supporter is showing no empathy for Madeleine.
