It was mentioned on here the other day that the McCann trial was scheduled for June but I"m sure if this
was true one of our Portugese Friends would have confirmed it.

It does indeed seem that there are waves of anxiety emanating from the delightful duo recently. A kind of redoubling at all efforts to get good PR - and money. this could be why.

Yes, all of a sudden, getting off their backsides and physically doing something , the first time in three years !!!!
Like you, I think they are keeping themselves in the limelight for a reason , coluld be a PR stunt or the knowledge that the Fund is running dry and even if they win the case, 1.2million Euros there is no guarantee they will be awarded such a huge sum.........their greed knows no bounds.

Yes, getting off their backsides for once. Kate with her running and now Gerry a few weeks later in his bike race (perhaps they're actually competing with one another though.)

I cant help thinking that a keen sportsman like Gerry actually enjoy competing in a cycle race and the training involved. Likewise Kate entering road races. In other words, these activities combine their personnel interests with some PR. It also allows us less mortals to see what super humans they are.

I am sure there are lots of other things GA would rather think about, like life before those child neglecting parents descended on PDL and brought about the "situation Madeleine now finds herself in."

Despite the outcome of the previous court appearance a lot more people discovered a lot more truth about this case. Dr Amaral is fighting the best lawyers in the UK and his own justice system. To me it just seems bizarre, but I pray that one day justice will prevail.

Hobnob's post on Malena's rant thread is excellent and he thinks there will be a trial and everything the holiday makers have done is well recorded and that they will face charges. Wish I had that much optimism, but that could be the answer and why they're appearing everywhere lately thinking they're creating good PR. Even then they cannot give to the charities that allow them to partake in these activities. (Well they did give half to the other's helping them promote the 1000 days missing. But that was another completely bizarre 'celebration')

I have thought for ages that someone is indeed investigating the fund. And the McCanns, and the friends, and the backers, and the whole saga.

In fact I think there are lots of people doing it. They're just doing it quietly. No publicity, no press, no media, no fuss.

I think that there are Police oifficers here and abroad keeping their counsel, biding their time, collecting evidence from a thousand fragments, and quietly building a case or cases

I think that they are outnumbered by journalists, who have the prospect of a huge scoop, a story that would eclipse even the Watergate story in terms of newspaper sales. The papers have, I am perfectly confident, huge amounts of material ready to publish the moment the dam breaks.

I agree wholeheartedly that there are people in the background, media and
authorities, who are clocking everything that has been done and said over
the last three years. I also think that the Macs have been given very bad
advice with some of the things they have been doing, to my mind, digging
a great big hole for themselves. The British and the Portugese people are not
stupid. The you know what will hit the fan sooner rather than later IMO!

If I didn't visit this forum (and MCF) I'd be totally despondent. As more and more people visit sites which give out info that the UK press at the moment keep schtum about, then hopefully the truth will filter out.

I'd like to see Fiona Phillips and Lorraine Kelly being asked why they were sympathetic when it was obvious that the parents were neglectful....and right there on camera for us all to see. A disgrace to the mums and dads of Britain who care very much for their children.

i hope that the press have been working away hard behind the scenes too , and one day all will hit the fan . as for the case i have always thought that it was still game on , and that something will happen one day , i have a family member that think the mcanns are guilty of neglect only , i have argued the case about it all and it has fallen on deaf ears , but the other week to my suprise this family member declared that they are sick of seeing them and all this begging is getting out of hand , so i think peoples opinions will change and if one mcann fan starts to think theres something not right after all this time , i say let the press print all this crap and big holes the mcanns are digging for themselfs .

Yes, I think they do. There is a rumour that it is due to commence in June, but it IS a rumour. I would hope that there has been plenty of time for each side to present their case by June because they have had since last
September to do so, Portugese Justice has been slow enough already.
