NYPD cop arrested for stalking 11 year-old on her way to school
CBS News
NYPD detective Deodhram Singh
NEW YORK (CBS/WRGB) A veteran New York City Police Department
detective, Deodhram Singh, was arrested in Albany for stalking an
11-year-old girl on her way to school and trying to lure her into his
truck, police say.
The girl was walking to Philip Schuyler School Tuesday morning when
Singh drove his pickup truck next to her, according to public safety
spokesperson James Miller.
Singh asked her if she wanted to make money, but the girl ignored him
and continued walking, according to a report filed with police.
Minutes later, the man pulled up to her again, this time asking her how
old she was and if she wanted to make money.
The girl ignored him and walked faster, and the man turned off the
street, said Det. Miller.
At this point, the girl later told police, she started walking to her
grandparents' home because she was frightened. On her way there, Singh
allegedly pulled up to her a third time and asked her if she was young
and if she wanted to make $100.
The 11-year-old told him that she didn't talk to strangers and proceeded
to run up the stairs to her grandparents' home, where she was met by
her grandfather at the door. She then told her grandfather what
happened, said Det. Miller.
Her grandfather then grabbed his keys, jumped into his car, and followed
the truck until he was able to get the man's license plate number.
The girl's grandparents called police, and officers were able to track
the plate number to the suspect at his home.
Singh was arrested at his home and admitted in an interview with police
to being in the area at the time, but denied trying to get the girl into
his truck.
According to The
New York Daily News, Singh has homes in Albany and Long Island, and
did not inform Albany authorities that he was an NYPD cop. They only
discovered what Singh does for a living when they analyzed his
fingerprints.
Singh has been charged with second-degree harassment and endangering the
welfare of a child. He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and
remanded to Albany County Jail.

How could he be so bl***y stupid.??? He has ruined his reputation, career, possible marriage (if he is) and
tried to seduce an 11 yr old girl in the middle of a busy thoroughfare , not once, not twice, but 3 times.!!!!!!

A detective has two homes? One in Albany and one in Long Island. This took place in Albany and he is a NYPD detective. Perhaps he imagined he'd be safe outside the area he worked in and I wonder if he has lured other young girls to that home in Albany.

My guess is he was paid to recruit young girls that"s how he has two homes. He probably has been doing this for years , maybe these girls were shipped to another Country and never seen again.

I don't see how a detective could afford to run two homes and how he could, as alleged, offer $100. You may be right about child trafficking, or perhaps he was the finder for a paedo ring operating at his Albany home.
