There was a T.V. report about how our young Airmen fought a battle from July to October against the Germans
which turned the tide in Britain"s favour. It is estimated that 2, 700 German Pilots lost their lives and 1,600
British Pilots.

This Battle in the Air prompted Churchill"s most famous speech ."Never, in the history of human conflict has so
much been owed by so many to so few."

A timely reminder that we should never forget the Freedom we enjoy because of their bravery.

It is the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Hitler was preparing an invasion of Britain but knew he'd have to clear the sky's first.He came very close when he 'carpet bombed' Biggin Hill airfield which was the most important RAF base from which the country's defence of the sky was being coordinated.Churchill lived just up the road from Biggin hill in Westerham and was a regular visitor.Churchill knew Biggin Hill was crucial to the war.
We where outnumbered in the sky but the superior Spitfire and skill of our pilots won the battle in the sky and undoubtedly stopped any invasion plans.

Yes Lioned, the average age of the British pilots was 18 and their bravery should never be forgotten. Those
were the days of love of Country and respect for one"s elders etc............look at us now.!!!!

Yes Panda, a fact those in power should also remember while they impose yet more stringent restrictions and taxes on the people of this nation. Yet at the same time continue to enhance their own lifestyle as they asset strip public utilities and prepare to sell off our NHS to private concerns. Not forgetting of course.to line their own pockets in the process.

All their devious corruption rides on the back of the sacrifices made by "The Few" and the other 1.5-2million of our servicemen and women and civilians killed and the unknown millions injured in the wars of the last 100 years.

I like to remember those German pilots too. They were just ordinary people like the British pilots, thinking they were doing the right thing, or just men who had been enlisted and had no choice. Every soldier, every airman, every seaman was someone sent out to kill or be killed by leaders who sat in safety, sending out orders, moving thousands of people on maps.

Quite right Anna just men doing a job they've been told to do.Here's a story of the last known 'conflict' on British soil involving an 'invading' force.Not well known this as most people think you'd have to go back some considerable centuries to them silly French people to find a 'war like' exchange of gunfire on British soil.

I have also heard anecdotal stories about this incident that ended with both sides sinking a few pints at the local pub.

What a difference to the kind of Warfare we have today, suicide bombers, Women and children as well as Men.
Roadside bombs, a truly unseen enemy killing innocent defenceless people, destroying the infra structure
of these Countries and for what.???

Has anybody seen Zeitgiest the Movie or Zeitgiest addendum. I had seen them ages ago and recently found
the name of the Company who sells them. I ordered both at a total cost of $17 inc. post and packaging....well
worth the money. I watched addendum yesterday and it really is fascinating how money evolved and the dirty
tricks used by CIA . Governments don"t govern any more it"s Business Corporations.

Thing is we were defending our own shores from what was an inevitable invasion and we had every right to do that and did it very well.
Contrast todays so called 'wars' which are more about oil and power control by governments excusing their actions through the creation of fear and sending our troops off to fight and die in god forsaken places where we have no business.

The addendum tells of CIA arranging the Assassination of various Leaders who wanted the best for their
Country without the "aid" from the U.S. which proved so costly . No more Wars fought on the Battlefield with
the "enemy" facing each other , today"s invasion of a Country is to destroy it"s economic structure.
